Albuquerque,also known as ABQ,Burque,and the Duke City,is the most populous city in the U.S. state of New Mexico. Sandia Crest,also known locally as Sandia Peak or simply as the Crest,is a mountain ridge that,at 10,679 feet (3,255 m),is the highpoint of the Sandia–Manzano Mountains,and is located in the Sandia Mountains of Bernalillo County,New Mexico,United States. Instead of a true summit or topographic peak,this range climbs to a long ridge line. To the east,the range slopes down from the Crest and merges into the plains below. On the west side of the Crest is a cliff;the range dramatically drops over 4,000 feet in elevation over 2 miles of horizontal distance to the Rio Grande Valley and city of Albuquerque below. It is within the Sandia Ranger District of the Cibola National Forest. The Crest features a viewing area with a shop and visitor center,telecommunications transmitters,the popular La Luz Trail,the Sandia Mountain Wilderness,and the summit of Sandia Peak Ski Area and the Sandia Peak Tramway,which is the longest aerial tramway in the Americas.

Since January 2017,the Mercury Messenger has featured Price's online column of politics and the environment. Price has taught off and on since 1976 in the University of New Mexico's School of Architecture and Planning,and as continuing faculty in the UNM Honors College from 1986 to 2014. His seminars range from the classics in translation to modern poetry,urban studies,and New Mexico's environmental history. He is currently an elected member of the Board of Directors for the Leopold Writing Program. In 2021,he received the New Mexico Literary Arts Gratitude Award "for contributions to the life of the poetry community in New Mexico and the Southwest."

Robert G. Frank is an American academic administrator and faculty member. He was appointed as the fifth dean of the College of Health Related Professions at the University of Florida in 1995. The name of the college changed to the College of Public Health and Health Professions while he was dean. In 2007,he was appointed as Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs at Kent State University. He then served as the 21st President of the University of New Mexico from 2012 to 2017.

She is known for her work expanding energy access through alternative and renewable solutions for remote tribal members on the Navajo Reservation.
Edl Schamiloglu is an American physicist,electrical engineer,pulsed power expert,inventor,and distinguished professor in the department of electrical and computer engineering at the University of New Mexico. He has been known in public media for his expertise in the design and operation of directed-energy weapons. He is also known for his assessment on the possible origins of alleged health damages presumably caused on U.S. embassy personnel in Cuba in 2016 as part of the Havana syndrome incident. He is the associate dean for research and innovation at the UNM School of Engineering,where he has been a faculty since 1988,and where he is also special assistant to the provost for laboratory relations. He is also the founding director of the recently launched UNM Directed Energy Center. Schamiloglu is a book author and co-editor,and has received numerous awards for his academic achievements. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers and the American Physical Society.
Meeko Mitsuko Karen Oishi is an American engineer and control theorist. She is Gardner Zemke Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of New Mexico.
