Crotona Park Hospital was a hospital in The Bronx. [1] [2] [3] Today that location houses a "substance abuse treatment rehabilitation center." [4]

The hospital's name comes from its location, "southeast corner of Crotona Park East and Charlotte Street" [1] rather than "Crotona Avenue and Crotona Park South" [5] to which location Fordham Hospital moved in 1907.

Crotona Park is a public park in the South Bronx in New York City, covering 127.5 acres (51.6 ha). It is divided into four portions by Claremont Parkway and Crotona Avenue, which run through it.

John Mullaly

John Mullaly (1835–1915), known as father of the Bronx's park system, was a newspaper reporter and editor who was instrumental in forming the New York Park Association. He was born in Belfast, Ireland. After coming to the United States, he worked for the New York Herald, the New York Tribune, and the New York Evening Post. He was the editor of the Metropolitan Record, published by the Catholic Church in New York City.

Fordham Hospital was the first public hospital in the Bronx, New York City, having opened in 1892. Prior to that time, all the New York City municipal hospitals were in Manhattan. It was located in the Fordham section of the Bronx on Valentine Avenue near Kingsbridge Road, which at the time was a relatively undeveloped area, and inconvenient for patients and their families. It moved to Aqueduct Avenue and St. James Place in 1898.

Bathgate Industrial Park is an industrial park located in the Morrisania neighborhood of the Bronx, New York City. It is south of the Cross Bronx Expressway, west of Third and Fulton Avenues, north of Claremont Parkway, and east of Washington Avenue in the district of Bronx Community Board 3.

Fredericka "Freddie" Imogene Martin was an American writer, historian, human rights activist, chief nurse, and administrator of the American medical volunteers who served during the Spanish Civil War. She fought for the rights of the Aleut ethnic group during the 1940s. She has written and published several books throughout her life. Fredericka Martin received an honorary doctorate from the University of Alaska for her voluntary medical services.

Twin Parks is a housing development in the Bronx, New York City. Its buildings were designed by leading architects, and were widely hailed as "the cutting edge of public design" when constructed in the early 1970s.
