Cullen Crawford Loeffler (born January 27, 1981) is a former American football long snapper. He played college football at Texas, and signed with the Vikings as an undrafted free agent in 2004.
Loeffler attended Ingram Tom Moore High School in Ingram, Texas. He earned four varsity letters in both football and basketball. He also played in the UIL State Championship in doubles for tennis, winning the bronze in his junior year. Loeffler played several positions in high school football, including quarterback, [1] wide receiver, tight end, defensive end and punter. [2]
Loeffler turned down several scholarship opportunities to enroll and walk-on at the University of Texas. He was redshirted his first year at Texas. The following year, as a redshirt freshman, he played a few snaps as a tight end and on the kickoff return team, as well as serving as the team's backup long snapper; at the end of the 2000 season, he was picked for the Academic All-Big 12 second-team. He progressed to the Academic All-Big 12 first-team for the only time in 2001, after playing in all 13 of the Longhorns' games, exclusively as the long snapper on punts.
An ankle injury meant Loeffler missed the Longhorns' games against Houston and Tulane in 2002, but he finally took over long snapping duties for field goals and PATs for the last seven games of the season and was the team's Special Teams Player of the Week in week 2 for his two solo tackles against North Carolina. He then played in all 13 games in his senior year, and his performances earned him the Longhorns' Frank Denius Most Valuable Special Teams Player Award.
He graduated in 2004 with a degree in finance. [3]
Loeffler was signed by the Minnesota Vikings as an undrafted free agent in 2004. The Vikings signed Loeffler to a three-year contract extension on October 7, 2011. [4] He suffered a bone fracture in his lower back during a week 12 loss to the Atlanta Falcons and was placed on injured reserve on November 29, 2011, ending his season. [5] In recognition of Loeffler's contribution to his record-breaking season, the Vikings' rookie kicker Blair Walsh offered to pay for Loeffler to join him in Hawaii for the 2013 Pro Bowl. [6]
Until the release of kicker Ryan Longwell by the Vikings in 2011, Loeffler, Longwell and punter Chris Kluwe were the longest-serving special teams trio in the league. [7]
During the 2014 off season Loeffler met a young entrepreneur Robbie Harrell on his way back home to Austin, TX according to the Twin Cities Business Magazine article "MN Viking Invests In 23-Year-Old's Ice Sculpture Business" Archived November 11, 2014, at the Wayback Machine . Loeffler, was intrigued by Harrell’s 1-year-old business called Minnesota Ice Sculptures. [8] After negotiation between Loeffler and Harrell's old business partner, Loeffler purchased half of MN Ice Sculptures for a five figure sum. Since the start of their relationship Harrell and Loeffler have started another venture called Wholesale Androids, a premium cell phone distribution company.
Loeffler was cut from the Vikings on August 24, 2015 during the preseason.
Loeffler is the son of Tom Loeffler, a former Republican member of the United States House of Representatives who also played football for the University of Texas under Darrell Royal. [2] Loeffler married his wife, Jardin, in the 2006 offseason; they have a daughter, Landyn, and a son, Senate.
Ryan Walker Longwell is an American former professional football player who was a placekicker in the National Football League (NFL). After playing college football for the California Golden Bears, he started his professional career with the San Francisco 49ers, but never played a game for the franchise. He then played for the Green Bay Packers from 1997 to 2005. He played for the Minnesota Vikings from 2006 to 2011. He also played briefly for the Seattle Seahawks during the 2012 playoffs.
Christopher James Kluwe is a former American football punter and writer. Kluwe played at Los Alamitos High School in Los Alamitos, California, where he was a 1999 USA Today High School All-American, and then attended the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), where he played college football for the UCLA Bruins. He was signed by the Seattle Seahawks as an undrafted free agent in 2005 and played professionally in the National Football League for the Seahawks, Minnesota Vikings, and Oakland Raiders.
Donald Lynn Muhlbach Jr. is an American former football long snapper who played in the National Football League (NFL). At the time of his retirement, he was the oldest active player in the NFL other than Tom Brady. Muhlbach played college football for the Texas A&M Aggies and was signed as an undrafted free agent in 2004 by the Baltimore Ravens before joining the Detroit Lions that same year. He is second in Lions franchise history in games played, only behind former teammate Jason Hanson. Muhlbach was the last remaining active member of the Lions infamous 2008 season, where they went 0–16.

Nathaniel DeWayne Vasher is an American former professional football player who was a cornerback for seven seasons in the National Football League (NFL). He was an All-American for the Texas Longhorns where he played college football for four seasons. He was selected by the Chicago Bears in the fourth round of the 2004 NFL draft and with them became a Pro Bowler and played in Super Bowl XLI. He was also a member of the San Diego Chargers and Detroit Lions.

The 2008 season was the Minnesota Vikings' 48th in the National Football League (NFL) and their third under head coach Brad Childress. They won their 17th NFC North division title with a 10–6 record, the first time since 2000 that they made the playoffs with a winning record; however, they finished behind the New York Giants and Carolina Panthers and had to play in the wild card round of the playoffs. They were paired with Childress's former team, the Philadelphia Eagles, who won 26–14. Second-year running back Adrian Peterson led the league in rushing with 1,760 yards.
The 2009 season was the Minnesota Vikings' 49th in the National Football League (NFL) and their fourth under head coach Brad Childress. The Vikings improved upon their 10–6 record and defended their NFC North title from 2008, their first successful defense of a divisional title since they won six NFC Central titles in a row between 1973 and 1978. They beat the Dallas Cowboys in the NFC Divisional Playoff at the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome in Minneapolis, but lost the NFC Championship Game in overtime to the eventual Super Bowl champion New Orleans Saints, missing out on what would have been their first Super Bowl since Super Bowl XI in 1976. This year's NFC Championship Game is also dubbed by many as the "Bountygate Game" that also resulted in several players and coaching staff receiving 12-month suspensions three years later. The Vikings had 10 Pro Bowlers and four All-Pros on their roster, both league-highs for the season.

The 2008 Texas vs. Texas Tech football game was a Big 12 Conference college football game played between the Texas Longhorns and Texas Tech Red Raiders at Jones AT&T Stadium in Lubbock, Texas. The game was played on November 1 and was one of the most memorable games in the two teams' rivalry. Heading into the game, both teams were undefeated at 8–0. Texas entered game as the top-ranked team in the nation, led by coach Mack Brown. The Red Raiders, headed by coach Mike Leach, were ranked sixth. The Red Raiders stunned the Longhorns 39–33 on a last-second touchdown pass. The game appeared over on the previous play, but Texas dropped a potential interception. The game is one of the greatest upsets in the rivalry's history and was crucial in producing a three-way tie in the Big 12 at the end of the season.

Primarily known as a return specialist, Sherels is tied for first in Vikings franchise history with a 10.4 yard career punt return average and holds the franchise record with 5 career punt return touchdowns. He was also a member of the New Orleans Saints and Miami Dolphins.
Andrew DePaola Jr. is an American football long snapper for the Minnesota Vikings of the National Football League (NFL). He made his professional debut with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on September 7, 2014. He played football and baseball in high school before playing college football for the Rutgers Scarlet Knights.
