Cyprus International Short Film Festival, best known as International Short Film Festival of Cyprus (ISFFC) is an international film festival for short films held in Cyprus. The festival is also European Film Awards-qualifying for short films. [1]
In its inauguration year of 2008, the festival received over 300 submissions from 39 different countries. [2] The jury was composed of the Greek Cypriot film director Panicos Chrysanthou, Turkish Cypriot film director Dervis Zaim, Russian journalist Simon Ostrovsky, and the Turkish actress Demet Evgar.

Hisham Zreiq, also spelled Zrake, is a Palestinian-Israeli Independent filmmaker, poet, animator and visual artist. He began working in computer art in 1994, and in 1996 started exhibiting his work in galleries and museums. In 2007 he filmed his first documentary, The Sons of Eilaboun, and in 2008 he created the short film Just Another Day, dealing with the life of Arabs living in western world after September 11 terror attacks. He uses his poetry and visual art in his films, as in Just Another Day, and was a member of the Culture Unplugged film festival panel. In 2018 Zreiq contributed to the book An Oral History of the Palestinian Nakba by writing a chapter based on the interviews from his documentary The Sons of Eilaboun. In 2023 he started a music project called 'Goddess Asherah'
Honey is a 2010 Turkish drama film directed by Semih Kaplanoğlu, the third and final installment of the "Yusuf Trilogy", which includes Egg and Milk. It premiered on 16 February 2010 in competition at the 60th Berlin International Film Festival, where it became the third Turkish film, after Susuz Yaz in 1964 and Head-On in 2004, to win the Golden Bear award. The film, which went on general release across Turkey on 9 April 2010, was selected as Turkey's official candidate for the Best Foreign Film Oscar at the 83rd Academy Awards but it did not make the final shortlist.
Shadows and Faces is a 2010 Turkish drama film, written and directed by Turkish Cypriot director Derviş Zaim, which tells the story of a young girl who is separated from her father, a Karagöz shadow play master, during the beginning of the conflict between Turks and Greeks in Cyprus in 1963. The film, which saw a nationwide general release across Turkey on March 11, 2011, premiered in competition at the 47th International Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival, where it won the Turkish Film Critics Association Award. It is the third and final part of a trilogy of films themed around traditional Turkish arts, which includes Waiting for Heaven (2006) and Dot (2008).
