The Oregon Republican Party is the state affiliate of the United States Republican Party in Oregon,headquartered in Salem. The party was established in the Oregon Territory in February 1857 as the "Free State Republican Party of Oregon" and held its first state convention on April 1,1859,after Oregon achieved statehood.
The Oregon State Senate is the upper house of the statewide legislature for the US state of Oregon. Along with the lower chamber Oregon House of Representatives it makes up the Oregon Legislative Assembly. There are 30 members of the state Senate,representing 30 districts across the state,each with a population of 141,242. The state Senate meets in the east wing of the Oregon State Capitol in Salem.

The primaries were held on May 15,2018. The elections and primaries coincided with the elections and primaries of other federal and state offices.

The 2020 United States state legislative elections were held on November 3,2020,for 86 state legislative chambers in 44 states. Across the fifty states,approximately 65 percent of all upper house seats and 85 percent of all lower house seats were up for election. Nine legislative chambers in the five permanently-inhabited U.S. territories and the federal district of Washington,D.C. also held elections. The elections took place concurrently with several other federal,state,and local elections,including the presidential election,U.S. Senate elections,U.S. House elections,and gubernatorial elections.
The 81st Oregon Legislative Assembly was the legislative session of the Oregon Legislative Assembly that convened on January 11,2021 and adjourned June 26th. Its even-year short session of 35 days convened on February 1,2022 and adjourned sine die on March 4,2022.
The 2022 elections for the Illinois Senate occurred on November 8,2022 to elect Senators from all of the state's 59 Legislative districts in the Illinois Senate. The primary election took place on Tuesday,June 28,2022. The winners of this election will serve in the 103rd General Assembly with seats apportioned among the state based on the 2020 United States census. Under the Illinois Constitution of 1970,senators are divided into three groups with each group having a two-year term at a different part of the decade between censuses,with the rest of the decade being taken up by two four-year terms. The Democratic Party has held a majority in the Senate since 2003. The inauguration of the 103rd General Assembly occurred on Wednesday,January 11,2023.
Christine Goodwin is an American businesswoman and politician serving as a member of the Oregon House of Representatives for the 4th district. Goodwin was appointed to the House on August 12 2021,succeeding Gary Leif for the 2nd district seat. She went on to be elected to the Oregon's 4th House district on November 8 2021 and assumed office on January 9,2021.
