Stanislav Todorov Trifonov, known as Slavi Trifonov, is a Bulgarian TV host, tambourine and viola player, singer and politician. Trifonov is mainly active in the traditional Bulgarian folklore music genres, but he has experimented with other genres such as hip-hop in collaboration with the Australian-based producer Yasen Subev, and pop-rock and punk as a part of Ku-Ku Band. His name is associated mainly with the Slavi's Show, Exiles, Canaletto and KU-KU.

Music Idol was the Bulgarian version of the British television hit show Pop Idol. It was a talent contest to determine the superior pop performer. Its first season was aired on bTV from February 26 until June 7, 2007. During its third season, the show went international and auditions took place in neighboring Macedonia. Other major changes in the third season: minimum age for participants 13, more talk show than music, great accent on the hosts, hidden vote results, which makes it impossible to validate the result of each elimination.

Bulgaria participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2008 with the song "DJ, Take Me Away" written by Dian Savov. The song was performed by the group Deep Zone and Balthazar. The Bulgarian broadcaster Bulgarian National Television (BNT) organised the national final Bŭlgarskata pesen v „Evroviziya 2008” in order to select the Bulgarian entry for the 2008 contest in Belgrade, Serbia. 56 entries were selected to participate in the first phase of the national final, EuroBGvision, which consisted of three monthly selections. Fourteen entries qualified to compete in Bŭlgarskata pesen v „Evroviziya 2008” which consisted of two shows: a semi-final and a final held on 26 January 2008 and 23 February 2008, respectively. Eighteen entries competed in the semi-final and the top nine songs qualified to the final alongside three pre-qualified songs. In the final, public televoting exclusively selected "DJ, Take Me Away" performed by Deep Zone and Balthazar as the winning entry with 15.37% of the votes.
Dancing Stars is the Bulgarian adaptation of the BBC Worldwide format Dancing With The Stars. The first season of the show started on 22 September 2008 and was aired on bTV. The first season of the show was hosted by Radost Draganova and Todor Kolev. It aired from Monday to Thursday with two live shows, on Monday and Thursday and two background episodes on Tuesday and Wednesday. Dancing stars 1 was produced by Old School Productions and proved to be a huge success reaching an average audience share of over 40%, beating Nova Television's Big Brother 4.
Antonia Petrova is a Bulgarian lawyer, actress and beauty pageant titleholder who the winner of Miss Bulgaria 2009. She represented the country at Miss World 2009 which took place in December 2009. She crowned her successor Miss Bulgaria, Romina Andonova, in April 2010.
Bulgaria participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2010 with the song "Angel si ti" written by Miroslav Kostadinov, Mihail Mihailov and Gordon Davis. The song was performed by Miro, which is the artistic name of singer Miroslav Kostadinov. In October 2009, the Bulgarian broadcaster Bulgarian National Television (BNT) announced that Miro had been selected to compete at the 2010 contest in Oslo, Norway. The broadcaster organised the national final Bŭlgarskata pesen v „Evroviziya 2010” in order to select the song that Miro competed with. Five songs were selected to participate in the national final, held on 28 February 2010, where "Angel si ti" emerged as the winning song with 48.05% of the public televote.
Balgariya tarsi talant is the Bulgarian version of the Got Talent series. It launched on bTV on 1 March 2010. Singers, dancers, comedians, variety acts, and other performers compete against each other for audience support. The winner of the show will receive 60,000 leva.

Desislava Ivanova Doneva, known by her stage names Desi Slava or DESS, is a Bulgarian singer-songwriter and producer. She was born in Radnevo, Bulgaria. Her first stage appearances began at an early age, when she would win awards at festivals for children. Shortly afterwards, she became the soloist of "Radnevo" orchestra. This led to her being noticed by one of the most famous Bulgarian folklore singers of all time – Valkana Stoyanova, who took her under her wing, coached her and declared Desislava as her possible music heir.
