Daniel E. "Dan" Catullo III is an American concert promoter, director, and producer, and the co-founder and CEO of DC3 Music Group and The City Drive Entertainment Group, both production and distribution companies specializing in 3D films, music videos, documentaries and live DVDs. The companies have produced projects for a range of artists including Rage Against the Machine, Alter Bridge, Creed, Mariah Carey, Godsmack, and Chickenfoot. He is the Creator, Director and Producer of the groundbreaking series Landmarks Live. [1] [2] [3]

Career

Catullo is a concert promoter, having promoted more than 300 shows in his career. [4] He was the President and Founder of Cement Shoes Records, a record label featuring such bands as Ill Nino and Revolution Mother. It was launched in 2006 with Peter Koepke, the former president and partner of London Records and Jimmy Rollins of the Philadelphia Phillies. The label closed its doors in 2008. CSR was distributed by Universal/Fontana. [5]

Catullo was a partner in Serenity Recording, a recording studio complex in Hollywood that he co-founded in 2004 with Sully Erna, the lead singer of hard rock band Godsmack. Some Spiral artists include Justin Timberlake, The Black Eyed Peas, Fergie, Godsmack, Terrence Howard, Macy Gray, John Legend, Mel B, Britney Spears and others. [6]

Recent projects

In December 2012, Catullo produced and released the Sully Erna Box Set, according to the website for the band Godsmack. [7] Also released in 2012 was the Catullo produced Steel Panther release of their first Live DVD British Invasion in Australia in September 2012. [8] The DVD was released worldwide on October 22, 2012. The DVD was filmed at Brixton Academy in London and features a two-hour concert/documentary based on the bands sold-out British tour and is currently the No. 1 selling DVD in Australia [9]

Catullo served as executive producer of the film The Square (2013), [10] a documentary about the Egyptian Revolution of 2011.

In August 2013, Catullo directed the music video for the hard rock band Alter Bridge called "Addicted To Pain". The video was released on September 5, 2013. [11] This was Catullo's second music video for Alter Bridge. He previously directed the video for "Isolation" in 2010. [12] He also directed and produced both concert DVDs for the band's 2009 "Live From Amsterdam" (2009) and Live From Wembley" (2011).

On July 13, 2013, Catullo directed and produced a film of Mariah Carey with the NY Philharmonic in Central Park for MLB All Star Week. Details have not been released on what was filmed or when it will be released. [13]

He produced and directed the livestream pay-per-view concert Kiss New Year's Eve 2020 Goodbye concert that broke 2 Guinness world records- one for the highest flame projection in a music concert and another for the most flame projections launched simultaneously in a music concert. [14] It was produced as part of Catullo's own series Landmarks Live Presents, and was filmed with over 50 4K camera with 360-degree views on a 250-foot stage at The Royal Beach at Atlantis. [15]

Catullo is active in working with charities including The Wheelchair Foundation, The Thalians and various children's charities. He is the entertainment chairperson for the Wheelchair Foundation.[ citation needed ] After the 2010 Haiti earthquake, Catullo organized a relief mission to Haiti and in 7 days raised over $1 million in medical supplies and wheelchairs and a donated jet. [45] [46] Catullo's company DC3 is listed as a sponsor of the Global Adolescent Project, [47] a non-profit that was formed shortly after the Plane to Haiti trip. Catullo also sits on its board of directors. [48]

Charlie Is My Darling – Ireland 1965, directed by Peter Whitehead and produced by the Rolling Stones' manager Andrew Loog Oldham, was the first documentary film about the Rolling Stones. It was intended as a screen test for the band, to see how their musical charisma would translate into film. The footage was shot during the band's second tour of Ireland that year, on 3 and 4 September 1965, and was finished in the spring of 1966. It was given its premiere at the Mannheim Film Festival in October 1966. But the film was never officially released, due to the legal fights between the Rolling Stones and Allen Klein and a burglary in Andrew Loog Oldham's office, which saw all prints disappear.

Changes is a documentary and live DVD released in September 2004 by American rock band Godsmack. The DVD was recorded in early 2004. That same month, the group also released "Batalla de los Tambores", a drum duel between Shannon Larkin and Sully Erna, available exclusively via online services such as Apple's iTunes Music Store, Real, Napster, and the Zune Marketplace. The DVD has been certified Gold by the RIAA, with access sales of 50,000 copies in the United States.

Live from Amsterdam is the first concert film and live album by American rock band Alter Bridge, recorded on December 7, 2008, at the Heineken Music Hall in Amsterdam, Netherlands and released to extremely positive reviews on September 12, 2009 via Amazon. A Blu-ray retail version, along with a deluxe box set, was delayed several times by Universal Republic, Alter Bridge's former record label, causing controversy and the band's eventual split from the label. It was finally released in stores in North America on January 11, 2011, almost two years after the originally planned release date, by DC3 Music Group and Alter Bridge Recordings.

U2360° at the Rose Bowl is a 2010 concert film by Irish rock band U2. It was shot on 25 October 2009 at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California, during the band's U2 360° Tour. The Rose Bowl concert featured a sold-out crowd of 97,014 people, breaking the US record for single concert attendance for one headline act. It was live streamed over the Internet via YouTube, and was later released on DVD and Blu-ray on 3 June 2010 in the United States, 7 June in the United Kingdom, and 8 June in Canada. MDNA World Tour is the fourth live album by American singer and songwriter Madonna. It was released on September 6, 2013, by Interscope Records as a full concert on all formats including a double-disc CD, DVD, and Blu-ray. Madonna had embarked on the MDNA Tour for promotion of her twelfth studio album MDNA. The tour was a commercial success although it courted a number of controversies. Roxette Live: Traveling the World is the first and only live album by Swedish pop duo Roxette, released on 6 December 2013 by Parlophone in conjunction with Warner Music. The set consists of recordings derived from three separate performances of the 2012 South American leg of "The Neverending World Tour". The music album contains their 5 May concert at the Teatro Caupolicán in Santiago, Chile in its entirety, while the DVD and Blu-ray also contains songs taken from their performances at the Orfeo Superdomo in Córdoba, Argentina on 3 May and the Teatro Positivo in Curitiba, Brazil on 8 May. Carruthers' work on the Oasis Definitely Maybe DVD was nominated for two BAFTAs.

The videography of English singer Cliff Richard consists of 38 video albums, one video compilation album, three video box sets, and 62 music videos. A number of these albums have been reissued and subsequently recharted. Richard's first music video was for his 1976 single "Miss You Nights", which coincided with his resurgence in popularity.
