The Danske Evangelist Lutheran Kirke (Danish Evangelical Lutheran Church; Denmark Evangelical Lutheran Church) is a church in Denmark, Kansas. It was added to the National Register in 1991. [1]

It is a one-story gable-front building made of limestone. Its main portion was built in c.1875-1880 and its bell tower and entry were added in 1901. It is 26 by 46.5 feet (7.9 m × 14.2 m) in plan. It includes Gothic detailing. [2]

Swedish Evangelical Lutheran Church, now known as Swedesburg Evangelical Lutheran Church, is a historic church located in Swedesburg, Iowa, United States. The congregation was officially organized in 1866 by the Swedish Lutheran congregation from New Sweden in Jefferson County, Iowa. The present church was built in 1928 as the third church to stand on the same site. The first frame church, built in 1868, was destroyed in a fire in 1883. The second frame church, with a 110-foot (34 m) tower, was completed the same year. In 1927 it too was also destroyed by fire. The congregation hired Burlington, Iowa architect W.F. Weibley to design the present Late Gothic Revival church building. It is composed of tan brick with Bedford stone trim. The church was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1999.

Sheldahl First Norwegian Evangelical Lutheran Church United States historic place

Sheldahl First Norwegian Evangelical Lutheran Church is a historic building located in Sheldahl, Iowa, United States. The community was platted by Osmund Sheldahl and J.S. Polk. Sheldahl was a lay Lutheran minister who settled in Illinois in 1845. He and three others came to this area in 1854 in search of cheap available land. The following year, 21 families that had organized themselves as the "Palestine Congregation" relocated to Story County. Sheldahl became a large land owner and the regular pastor for Palestine Lutheran Church in 1860. He built a house in town in 1877 and he and his two sons built this church building in 1883. Osmund Sheldahl served the congregation as an unpaid pastor for 13 years. His will stipulated that the church building be made available to any Christian denomination that emphasized Bible teaching. It remained in regular use until 1936.

The Old Danish Church, also known as St. Peter's Danish Evangelical Lutheran Church, is a historic church located at the southeast corner of Cook and Washington Streets in Sheffield, Illinois. The church was built in 1880 to house a congregation formed in 1869, which was made up of immigrants from Lolland, Denmark who had begun to loosely organize two years prior. This congregation was the oldest in the Danish Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, which was not officially formed until 1874. The 1880 church is a Gothic Revival structure with a 75-foot (23 m) steeple; the steeple houses the original bell, which was added in 1885. The interior of the church features three frescoes on the ceiling and a painting of the crucifixion behind the altar; the altar, communion railing, and baptismal font are all original.

Holy Rosary–Danish Church Historic District, also known as Fletcher Place II, is a national historic district located at Indianapolis, Indiana. The district encompasses 183 contributing buildings in a predominantly residential section located in the central business district of Indianapolis. It was developed between about 1875 and 1930, and include representative examples of Italianate, Gothic Revival, Tudor Revival, and Renaissance Revival style architecture. Located in the district is the separately listed Horace Mann Public School No. 13.
