David ODB Baker (born July 14, 1972) [2] is an American professional poker player living in Sahuarita, Arizona, who has appeared at five World Series of Poker (WSOP) final tables. Baker currently has over $5.4 million in tournament winnings. [3] Baker is an Auburn University alumnus.

Career

Born in Connecticut, Baker earned a finance degree from Auburn and became a business salesman. As of 2008, he lived with his wife and daughter Kathy in Texas. He had been introduced to poker in college. By the mid 1990s, he was playing pot limit omaha at casinos in New Orleans and eventually began playing three times a week at underground casinos in Houston. He became a full-time professional poker player in 2004. [4]

World Series of Poker

Baker currently has twenty-five WSOP in the money finishes (2011-5, 2010-7, 2009-4, 2008-2, 2007-1, 2006-5, 2004-1). [5] Highlighted by a 17th-place finish in the main event, his 2010 World Series of Poker performance included 7 in the money finishes, which was one behind the 2010 Series leaders. [6] Baker's success was confusing to those following the WSOP because David "Bakes" Baker also finished in the money four times and won a World Series of Poker bracelet at the 2010 WSOP. [6]

His first World Series of Poker cash was an 18th-place finish at the 237-player $2,500 2004 Limit Hold'em Event 11 for a prize of $4,360. [1] [7] His first WSOP final table was in the 720-player $1,500 2007 Limit Hold'em Shootout Event 53 for a prize of $12,776. [5] [8] As of July 17,2011, his highest WSOP prize was in the 7319-player $10,000 2010 No-Limit Hold'em Championship Event 57 for a prize of $396,967. [9]

In June 2012, Baker won his first World Series of Poker bracelet in the $2,500 Eight Game Mix event, defeating Greg Mueller heads-up to earn $271,312. As of 2018, his has won over $4,400,000 playing live poker tournaments.

Baker confusion

David "Bakes" Baker, has cashed regularly at the WSOP since the 2008 World Series of Poker. [10] ODB Baker has cashed regularly at the WSOP since 2006. [5] Both David Bakers have had multiple in the money finishes in each WSOP since 2008 with at least 4 in each year since 2009. [5] [10] As of July 12,2011, the two David Bakers have twice cashed in the same WSOP event. At the 3042-player $1,000 2010 No-Limit Hold’em Event 13, ODB placed 3rd for a prize of $206,813, while Bakes placed 59th for a prize of $6,132. [11] At the 817-player $5,000 2011 Triple Chance No-Limit Hold’em Event 50 Bakes placed 32nd for a prize of $21,311, while ODB placed 39th for a prize of $17,817. [12]

Additionally, both David "ODB" Baker and David "Bakes" Baker won World Series of Poker bracelets three days apart at the 2012 World Series of Poker. ODB won $2,500 477-entrant Event #37: Eight Game Mix, [13] while Bakes won $10,000 178-entrant Event #32: H.O.R.S.E. [14]

David Bakes Baker is an American professional poker player who has won a World Series of Poker bracelet and appeared at four World Series of Poker final tables. He also has a Spring Championship of Online Poker (SCOOP) championship. Baker currently has over US$2 million in tournament winnings. In order to avoid confusion with David "ODB" Baker, he is listed in the World Series of Poker (WSOP) database by the name "David Bakes Baker" and listed at Bluff Magazine as "David (Bakes) Baker". Baker, who is from Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, attended Michigan State University before taking up poker.

Mitch Schock is an American professional poker player. He won his first World Series of Poker bracelet at the 2011 World Series of Poker where he made three final tables and has had at least five in the money finishes in each of the last three World Series of Poker (WSOP). Upon winning his first bracelet after several years of trying, he was quoted in The Bismarck Tribune as comparing poker with farming saying "some years are better than others."

Mikhail Lakhitov is a Russian professional poker player. In June 2011, he became one of the top 20 ranked players in the world. He has one World Series of Poker bracelet and seven career World Series of Poker (WSOP) in the money finishes, all in the time since he started playing in 2010.

Samuel Stein is an American professional poker player from Los Angeles who lives in Henderson, Nevada. He won his first World Series of Poker bracelet at the 2011 World Series of Poker where he made two final tables and three in the money finishes. In both the 2010 and 2011 World Series of Poker, he finished in the money in two $10,000 Championship events, with one of them being the Pot Limit Texas hold 'em championship event each year. Of his nine World Series of Poker (WSOP) cashes, his last five are in pot limit events.

Joe Ebanks is an American professional poker player from Ohio. He grew up in Kent and as of 2011 resides in Stow. He won his first World Series of Poker bracelet at the 2011 World Series of Poker where he made his first final table and had three in the money finishes. Half of his six career WSOP in the money finishes are at short-handed events, and all of them are at No Limit Texas hold 'em.

Tristan Wade is an American professional poker player from Boynton Beach, Florida. He won his first World Series of Poker bracelet at the 2011 World Series of Poker Europe. In addition to a bracelet, 2011 saw Wade earn his first 3 World Series of Poker (WSOP) final tables, with two at the summer 2011 World Series of Poker before his fall bracelet in Europe. He's known for limping the button then calling off 30bb shoves with 22 like a boss. Wade is also an instructor at Deepstacks University. Wade is an alumnus of University of Central Florida where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology. WSOP.com lists him as a resident of Boynton Beach, Florida, while Hendon mob claims he is from Orlando, Florida. Wade made his first trip to Europe at the age of 26 in 2011 because of Black Friday, which had limited his options for play in the United States.

Ronnie Bardah is a professional poker player who won a World Series of Poker bracelet at the 2012 World Series of Poker and is also notable for holding the record for most consecutive World Series of Poker main event money finishes, with a streak of 5 years in a row from 2010 to 2014.
