Middletown Township is a township in northern Monmouth County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. As of the 2020 United States census, the township was the state's 20th-most-populous municipality and the largest in the county, with a population of 67,106, an increase of 584 (+0.9%) from the 2010 census count of 66,522, which in turn reflected an increase of 195 residents (0.3%) from its population of 66,327 in the 2000 census, when it was the state's 17th-most-populous municipality.

Christian Brothers Academy, located in the Lincroft section of Middletown Township in Monmouth County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey, is a private, all-boys preparatory school for grades nine to twelve, with a focus on Christian education. The school is run by the Institute of the Brothers of the Christian Schools, founded by St. Jean-Baptiste de La Salle. Christian Brothers Academy was originally a farm owned by the prominent Whitney family of New York City, and home to the Greentree Stable. The land was eventually given to the Christian Brothers for the purpose of teaching. The school opened for the first time in September 1959 and was blessed by the Bishop of Trenton on October 11, 1959. Christian Brothers Academy operates independently from the Roman Catholic Diocese of Trenton and is governed by a board of trustees.

Other students from Middletown Township attend Middletown High School South. The school also houses a 750-seat theater. Approximately 90% of North students attend college after graduation. The school has been accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Elementary and Secondary Schools since 1936.

The North Carolina Tar Heels Men's basketball program is a college basketball team of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. The Tar Heels have won six NCAA championships in addition to a 1924 Helms Athletic Foundation title (retroactive). North Carolina has won a record 133 NCAA tournament matchups while advancing to 31 Sweet Sixteen berths, a record 21 Final Fours, and 12 title games. It is the only school to have an active streak of reaching the National Championship game for nine straight decades and at least two Final Fours for six straight decades, all while averaging more wins per season played (20.7) than any other program in college basketball. In 2012, ESPN ranked North Carolina No. 1 on its list of the 50 most successful programs of the past fifty years.
The Monmouth Hawks baseball team is a varsity intercollegiate athletic team of Monmouth University in West Long Branch, New Jersey, United States. The team is a member of the Colonial Athletic Association, which is part of the National Collegiate Athletic Association's Division I. The team plays its home games at Monmouth Baseball Field in West Long Branch, New Jersey. The Hawks are coached by Dean Ehehalt.
Fred Hill Sr. was an American football and baseball coach. He served as the head baseball coach at Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey, where he served from 1984 through 2013. His teams earned 13 NCAA Division I baseball tournament bids at the school. Hill was also a head baseball and football coach for the Montclair State University Red Hawks in Upper Montclair, New Jersey. He compiled an overall college baseball coaching record of 1,089–749–9.
Glenn Braica is an American college basketball coach, currently an assistant coach at Fairfield University. He was previously the head coach at St. Francis College from 2010 until the program was cut in 2023. Braica was born in Brooklyn, New York and is an alumnus of Bishop Ford High School and Queens College. Braica began his head coaching career at St. Francis College in 2010 and had 22 years of coaching experience at the time split between New York City Tech, St. Francis and St. John's as an assistant coach.
King David Rice is an American basketball coach and former player. He is the head men's basketball coach at Monmouth University. Rice replaced Dave Calloway as head coach of the Hawks on March 29, 2011. Previously, Rice was also the head coach of the Bahamas national basketball team from 2001 to 2004. He is a native of Binghamton, New York, where he attended Binghamton High School from 1983 to 1987, and helped lead the basketball team to two state championships. He then starred at the University of North Carolina before becoming a coach.
The Monmouth Hawks women's basketball team represents Monmouth University in West Long Branch, New Jersey, United States. The school's team currently competes in the Coastal Athletic Association.
The Monmouth Hawks softball team represents Monmouth University in NCAA Division I college softball. The team participates in the Coastal Athletic Association (CAA). From 1984 until 2013, the team was a member of the Northeast Conference (NEC). From 2014 until 2022, the team was a member of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC). The Hawks are currently led by head coach Shannon Salsburg. The team plays its home games at Monmouth University Softball Park which is located on the college's campus.
Mark Scalf is an American college baseball coach and former player. He served as head coach of the UNC Wilmington Seahawks baseball program from 1992 to the conclusion of the 2019 season.
Matt Myers is an American baseball coach and former pitcher who is the current pitching coach for the Lipscomb Bisons. He served as the head coach of UNC Asheville Bulldogs (2001–2004) and Western Kentucky (2012–2015). He currently serves as Pitching Coach at UNC Wilmington.
Bill Winters is an American former professional football offensive lineman who played in the National Football League (NFL), Canadian Football League (CFL), American Football Association (AFA), and United States Football League (USFL) for eight seasons during the 1970s and 1980s. He played college football for Princeton University, and thereafter he played professionally for the Washington Redskins and New York Giants of the NFL, the Montreal Alouettes and BC Lions of the CFL, the Orlando Americans and Carolina Storm of the AFA, and the Tampa Bay Bandits, San Antonio Gunslingers, and Portland Breakers of the USFL.
