Deepak Rao is an Indian military trainer and author. He has helped train the Indian Army, Navy, Air Force as well as police forces of major cities and states, for more than 17 years without compensation. For his service in modernization of close quarter battle training, [1] [2] [3] he was awarded commission as Honorary Major of the Indian Territorial Army in 2011. [4] [5] [6] He is acting as a Brand Ambassadors of the Indian Army. [5]

Rao has been a trainer for the Indian Army since 1994. He specializes in close-quarters combat, [2] [7] [8] and along with his wife, Seema Rao, invented a new form of reflex shooting, named the Rao System of Reflex Fire, for the Indian Army. [9] Rao is a qualified physician who practices sports medicine.

According to Rao's instructor Richard Bustillo, an original student of Bruce Lee, Rao is one of the few instructors in India who teach Bruce Lee's art of Jeet Kune Do correctly. [10]

Rao has co-authored two books with his wife—A Comprehensive Analysis of World Terrorism and The Encyclopaedia of Close Combat Operations; the latter was distributed to the Police and Paramilitary for free by the Home Ministry. [8]

Bruce Lee: The Fighter is a 2015 Indian Telugu-language action comedy film directed by Sreenu Vaitla who co-wrote the film with Kona Venkat and Gopimohan. Produced by D. V. V. The film stars Vishal and Tamannaah as army officers Subhash and Diya, who embark on a globetrotting mission to hunt down a terrorist. The film co-stars Akanksha Puri, Aishwarya Lekshmi, marking the debut in Tamil cinema, Ramki, Chaya Singh, Yogi Babu, and Kabir Duhan Singh. The music was composed by Hiphop Tamizha. It also marks Vishal's second collaborations with Sundar C. after Aambala and with Tamannaah after Kaththi Sandai. Sundar C makes a cameo appearance.

The film is produced by Junglee Pictures, and serves as a spiritual sequel of the 2018 film Badhaai Ho. The principal photography began on 5 January 2021 in Dehradun. Khuda Haafiz: Chapter 2 – Agni Pariksha, also known as Khuda Haafiz 2, is a 2022 Indian Hindi-language action thriller film written and directed by Faruk Kabir. A sequel to the 2020 film Khuda Haafiz, it stars Vidyut Jammwal and Shivaleeka Oberoi.

Agnipath Scheme is a tour of duty style scheme introduced by the Government of India on 14 June 2022, for recruitment of soldiers below the rank of commissioned officers into the three services of the armed forces. All recruits will be hired only for a four year period. Personnel recruited under this system are to be called Agniveers (transl. Fire-Warriors), which will be a new military rank. The introduction of the scheme has been criticised for lack of consultation and public debate. The scheme was implemented in September 2022.
