The Indian Army is the land-based branch and the largest component of the Indian Armed Forces. Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) is the collective name of central police organisations in India under the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA). These are technically paramilitary forces formerly known as Central Para-Military Forces (CPMF). Since 2011, India adopted the term "central armed police forces" to drop the word "paramilitary". Bruce Lee: The Fighter is a 2015 Indian Telugu-language action comedy film directed by Sreenu Vaitla who co-wrote the film with Kona Venkat and Gopimohan. Produced by D. V. V. Danayya under the banner DVV Entertainments, the film stars Ram Charan, Rakul Preet Singh, Arun Vijay, Sampath Raj, Nadiya Moidu and Kriti Kharbanda. The film features music composed by S. Thaman, while Manoj Paramahamsa took charge of the film's cinematography and M. R. Varma edited the film. It follows Kartik who sacrifices his studies for his sister and becomes a stuntman. Often mistaken for an undercover policeman, he helps to unearth the evil designs of drug dealers Deepak Raj and his father Jayaraj.
All wings of the Indian Armed Forces have women in combat roles. Women are allowed in combat services and supervisory roles. Indian Air Force had 13.09% and 8.50%, Indian Navy 6% and 3% women, and Indian Army 3.80% and 3% in December 2018 and December 2014 respectively.
Action is a 2019 Indian Tamil-language action film written and directed by Sundar C. and produced by R. Ravindran under his banner Trident Arts. The film stars Vishal and Tamannaah as army officers Subhash and Diya, who embark on a globetrotting mission to hunt down a terrorist. The film co-stars Akanksha Puri, Aishwarya Lekshmi, marking the debut in Tamil cinema, Ramki, Chaya Singh, Yogi Babu, and Kabir Duhan Singh. The music was composed by Hiphop Tamizha. It also marks Vishal's second collaborations with Sundar C. after Aambala and with Tamannaah after Kaththi Sandai. Sundar C makes a cameo appearance.
BJP Mahila Morcha, or simply Mahila Morcha, is the women's wing of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of India. Colonel Bikkumalla Santosh Babu was an Indian Army officer and the commanding officer of 16 Bihar Regiment. He was killed in action (KIA) during the 2020 China–India skirmishes, the first Indian Armed Forces commissioned officer since 1967 and among the first Indian soldiers to have been KIA against the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) since 1975. He was posthumously decorated with India's second-highest wartime gallantry award, the Maha Vir Chakra.
Badhaai Do is a 2022 Indian Hindi comedy drama film depicting a couple in a lavender marriage. It stars Rajkummar Rao and Bhumi Pednekar and is written by Suman Adhikary and Akshat Ghildial and directed by Harshavardhan Kulkarni. The film is produced by Junglee Pictures, and serves as a spiritual sequel of the 2018 film Badhaai Ho. The principal photography began on 5 January 2021 in Dehradun. Badhaai Do was theatrically released on 11 February 2022.
Khuda Haafiz: Chapter 2 – Agni Pariksha, also known as Khuda Haafiz 2, is a 2022 Indian Hindi-language action thriller film written and directed by Faruk Kabir. A sequel to the 2020 film Khuda Haafiz, it stars Vidyut Jammwal and Shivaleeka Oberoi.
Agnipath Scheme is a tour of duty style scheme introduced by the Government of India on 14 June 2022, for recruitment of soldiers below the rank of commissioned officers into the three services of the armed forces. All recruits will be hired only for a four year period. Personnel recruited under this system are to be called Agniveers (transl. Fire-Warriors), which will be a new military rank. The introduction of the scheme has been criticised for lack of consultation and public debate. The scheme was implemented in September 2022.
