Denny and Dunipace Pipe Band is a Grade 3A pipe band based in Denny, near Falkirk, Scotland.
The band was established in 1964 by Captain John Deuchar and Roy Smith, who was the first Pipe Major. [1] [2] The band has competed at every level within the contest structure of the Royal Scottish Pipe Band Association, reaching Grade 1 in 1989 and 2012. [3]
David Clunie was appointed Pipe Major of Denny & Dunipace in 2010 alongside Arthur Cook as Lead Drummer. [4] Following some Grade 2 success in 2011 and 2012, including European, World and Cowal Championships in 2012, the band was promoted to Grade 1 for the 2013 season.
The organisation now has one band now in Grade 3A, led by Pipe Major Craig Whyte and Lead Drummer Bruce Smith.
When in Grade 3A, the band took first place in the 2006 World Pipe Band Championships [5] at Glasgow Green, and won the annual Champion of Champions for 3A. [6] This resulted in promotion to Grade 2 for 2007. Since then, the band placed 2nd at the 2011 World Championships, winning the prize for best drum corps. [7] In 2012, success continued, with 2nd places at both the Scottish and British Championships, and 1st places at the European, Cowal and World Championships taking champion of champions title 2012 and securing promotion to Grade 1. In 2012, the drum corps placed 1st at the Scottish, British and European Championships. [8] In 2017 the “wee band “ then grade 4A band achieved top 6 places in 4 out of 5 major championships including becoming British Champions and 4th at the World Championships which secured promotion to Grade 3B for the 2018 season.
A pipe band is a musical ensemble consisting of pipers and drummers. The term pipes and drums, used by military pipe bands is also common.
The Field Marshal Montgomery Pipe Band is a competitive grade one pipe band from Lisburn, Northern Ireland named in honour of Field Marshal Viscount Montgomery of Alamein. The band has won the World Pipe Band Championships 13 times, making it the third most successful competing pipe band in history behind the Strathclyde Police Pipe Band and the Shotts and Dykehead Caledonia Pipe Band.

The City of Washington Pipe Band was a grade two pipe band located in Washington, D.C.
The City of Whitehorse (CoWPB) was a competition pipe band, based in Nunawading, Victoria, Australia. The band's previous incarnations had been successful on the Australian Pipe Band competition circuit for numerous years, and was placed 11th in the final tables of the World Pipe Band Championships in 2006. The band reformed in 2014 and was led by Pipe Major George Shepherd and Drum Sergeant Olav Goud. The band ceased operations in 2016 following the decision of Pipe Bands Australia to suspend five members and later, terminate the band's membership following a protracted period of behaviour deemed unacceptable by the association.
The Oran Mor Pipe Band was a Grade 1 internationally competitive pipe band based in Albany, New York. It was founded in 1992 by Jim Clough, Bill MacNeill, and Donald Lindsay, and was one of the most consistently high-achieving pipe bands in the United States. Consistent success has earned it the title "Champions Supreme" in seven out of the last eight competition seasons with the Eastern United States Pipe Band Association (EUSPBA).
