Deron Michael McBee (born August 23, 1960) is an American actor and sportsman, known for playing Motaro in Mortal Kombat: Annihilation and as Malibu on American Gladiators . [1]
Deron McBee toured the professional racquetball circuit for three years.[ citation needed ]
McBee was an original Gladiator on American Gladiators , performing under the name Malibu. McBee appeared for one season on the show and returning several years later for the live tour.[ citation needed ] McBee is known for (as Malibu) his blond hair, tanned skin, and surfer persona.
McBee has trained in karate at the Billy Blanks World Karate Studio, and hand-to-hand combat and swordsmanship with Anthony De Longis.[ citation needed ]
As an actor McBee has generally been cast in action movies, usually in roles which allow him to use his fighting skills to portray a villain. For example, in Enter the Blood Ring , he portrays the wrestler Gregor.
His most notable film role is that of Motaro in the second Mortal Kombat film, Mortal Kombat: Annihilation . In the DVD extras of The Killing Zone, McBee states that he has produced his impressive physique by abstaining from steroids and using a combination of prayer and faith.[ citation needed ]
In addition to film, McBee has had many guest starring roles on television.
McBee was a deputy sheriff with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department in the early 1980s. [2]
Deron was married to Drzan McBee, a former professional wrestler and Raiderette, who died in 2003 from a heart attack. She was survived by her two daughters.[ citation needed ] Deron is now mostly involved in Christian ministry and in pursuing his painting passion. [3]

Mortal Kombat Annihilation is a 1997 American martial arts fantasy film directed by John R. Leonetti in his directorial debut. Based on the Mortal Kombat video game franchise, it is the second installment in the Mortal Kombat film series and a sequel to the original 1995 film, on which Leonetti served as cinematographer. Largely adapted from the 1995 video game Mortal Kombat 3, Annihilation follows Liu Kang and his allies as they attempt to prevent the malevolent Shao Kahn from conquering Earthrealm. It stars Robin Shou as Liu, Talisa Soto as Kitana, James Remar as Rayden, Sandra Hess as Sonya Blade, Lynn Red Williams as Jax and Brian Thompson as Kahn. Only Shou and Soto reprise their roles, with the other characters recast from the previous film.

Johnny Cage is a character in the Mortal Kombat fighting game franchise by Midway Games and NetherRealm Studios. Introduced in the original 1992 game, he is an action movie star with an extensive martial arts background. The series depicts Cage as one of the primary heroes defending Earthrealm from various threats, as well as the comic foil. In the rebooted timeline, Cage is also the love interest to Special Forces officer Sonya Blade and the father of their daughter Cassie. He is inspired by martial arts star Jean-Claude Van Damme, particularly Van Damme's character, Frank Dux, in the 1988 film Bloodsport.

Mortal Kombat Trilogy is a fighting game released by Midway in 1996 as the second and final update to Mortal Kombat 3 for the PlayStation, Nintendo 64, Sega Saturn and PCs. Further versions were also released for the Game.com and R-Zone. It features a similar basic gameplay system and the same story as Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3, but adds characters and stages restored from Mortal Kombat and Mortal Kombat II.
