Devon Gearhart (born May 5, 1995) is an American actor.
Gearhart was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia, and began acting at the age of seven, landing national commercials with Burger King, PBS, Pizza Hut and the Cartoon Network. Gearhart's movie debut came in 2004 when he landed the role of Young Bobby in Bobby Jones: Stroke of Genius . He currently[ when? ] lives in Los Angeles, California. [1]
Gearhart appeared in the television movies The Brooke Ellison Story directed by Christopher Reeve and Warm Springs , playing the son of Franklin Delano Roosevelt.
Gearhart landed lead roles in two independent films, with the stories of each film being told through the eyes of his characters. The first of the films was Canvas , [2] in which he starred opposite Marcia Gay Harden and Joe Pantoliano. The second film was Dog Days of Summer in which he starred opposite Will Patton and Colin Ford. Earlier in 2005, Gearhart had starred as Jake in the Life Is My Movie production Little Men.
Gearhart portrayed Naomi Watts ' and Tim Roth 's son in Michael Haneke's Funny Games, [3] [4] which premiered at the 2008 Sundance Film Festival. Gearhart also appeared in Clint Eastwood's Changeling in 2008.
In 2009, he appeared in the Robert Rodriguez film, Shorts . In addition to films, Gearhart has appeared in television shows including Lost and Law & Order: SVU .

Caché, also known as Hidden, is a 2005 psychological thriller film written and directed by Michael Haneke and starring Daniel Auteuil and Juliette Binoche. The plot follows an upper-middle-class French couple, Georges (Auteuil) and Anne (Binoche), who are terrorised by anonymous tapes that appear on their front porch and seem to show the family is under surveillance. Clues in the videos point to Georges's childhood memories, and his resistance to his parents' adopting an Algerian orphan named Majid, who was sent away. The tapes lead him to the now-grown Majid.
Funny Games is a 1997 Austrian psychological thriller film written and directed by Michael Haneke, and starring Susanne Lothar, Ulrich Mühe, and Arno Frisch. The plot involves two young men who hold a family hostage and torture them with sadistic games in their vacation home. The film was entered into the 1997 Cannes Film Festival. A shot-for-shot remake, filmed and set in the United States, was released in 2007, also directed by Haneke, this time with an English-speaking cast and a mostly American crew.

Like the original, the film follows a middle class family as it is captured and tortured by two young criminals on their vacation. Exterior scenes were filmed on Long Island. The film is an international co-production of the United States, United Kingdom, France, Germany, and Italy. Haneke has stated that the film is a reflection and criticism of violence used in media.
