Dictymia is a small genus of ferns. They are found growing on rocks, or hanging from branches in Malesia, Australia and islands of the Pacific Ocean. [1] Species include Dictymia mckeei , [2] and Dictymia brownii . The word Dictymia is from the ancient Greek language. It refers to the "net" like veiny patterns.

A 2002 molecular study of the tribe Gnaphalieae has indicated the genus is probably polyphyletic, with X. bracteatum and X. viscosum quite removed from each other.
