Dilip Chhabria is an Indian car designer and the founder of DC Design. [2] He designed and manufactured the DC Avanti, [3] which is considered India's first sports car. [4] In 2020, he was arrested for running a car scam. [5]

Dilip Chhabria graduated with a bachelor's degree in commerce. In a 2015 interview, he said that he had seen an advertisement in a car magazine and decided to become a car designer. [1] He then studied in the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, US.

After graduating, he worked for General Motors. He returned to India to start a workshop in Marol. [2] [6] His first product was a ring shaped horn for the Premier Padmini. [1]

In 2002, he was hired by the Kinetic Engineering Limited to design a limited edition scooter. [7] In 2003, DC Design constructed a prototype for Aston Martin Vantage to be showcased in the 2003 Detroit Motor Show, based on designs from Aston Martin. [8] In 2004 he designed a car for the film Taarzan: The Wonder Car. In 2006, he tied up with Exim Star of ETA Star Group to form a new company, DCStar. It was set up in Dubai to produce custom cars. [9] In 2009, he designed a concept car for the Coca-Cola Company to promote the energy drink Burn in India. [10] In 2011, he designed the REVA NXR electric car for Mahindra & Mahindra. [11] In 2012, Air Works India tied up with Chhabria to design airplane interiors. [12] In 2013, he was hired by Siddhi Vinayak Logistics to design the buses for their luxury bus service. [13] In 2014, he designed custom luxury buses for Girikand Logistics. [14] In 2015, he launched the DC Avanti. [15]

In 2010, he launched the DYPDC Center for Automotive Research and Studies with the D. Y. Patil group. [16]

Car scam

On 29 December 2020, Chhabria was arrested for running a car scam. [17] [18] [19] [20] [21] [22] [23] On 7 January 2021, comedian Kapil Sharma filed an FIR against Chhabria for cheating him. [24]

It was built by Fouzi Ayoub Sabri and Dilip Chhabria who based their project on the Mitsubishi Lancer. Few cars were made to keep its rarity and pricing at US$270,000.

Henrik Fisker is a Danish automotive designer and entrepreneur based in Los Angeles, California. He is best known for designing luxury cars. After working at BMW, Ford, and Aston Martin, Fisker founded Fisker Automotive in 2007. The company failed to meet production deadlines despite significant federal and private investment. Fisker resigned in 2013. The New York Times described the company as the "Solyndra of the electric car industry" and a "debacle". He is currently the CEO of Fisker Inc., which he co-founded with his wife in 2016.

The Satyam Computer Services scandal was India's largest corporate fraud until 2010. The founder and directors of India-based outsourcing company Satyam Computer Services, falsified the accounts, inflated the share price, and stole large sums from the company. Much of this was invested in property. The swindle was discovered in late 2008 when the Hyderabad property market collapsed, leaving a trail back to Satyam. The scandal was brought to light in 2009 when chairman Byrraju Ramalinga Raju confessed that the company's accounts had been falsified.

The DC Avanti is a coupe styled sports car produced by DC Design, an Indian design firm originally headed by Dilip Chhabria. Its name was based on the Studebaker Avanti. It was unveiled at the 2012 Auto Expo in New Delhi. The Avanti is powered by 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine producing 250 bhp with a six-speed manual transmission. A limited edition model launched in 2015 comes with 310 bhp output and paddle shifters.

NSE [National Spot Exchange Limited ] case relates to a payment default at the National Spot Exchange Limited that occurred in 2013 involving Financial Technologies India Ltd, when a payment default took place after a commodities market regulator, the Forward Markets Commission (FMC), directed NSEL to stop launching contracts. This led to the closure of the Exchange in July 2013.

Automobili Pininfarina GmbH is a luxury electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer headquartered in Munich, Germany, with roots in the Italian car design firm and coachbuilder Pininfarina SpA. The company also has a design facility and office locations in Turin, Italy. Its first car, the Battista hypercar, has been produced from 2021. It was introduced at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance 2018, and 150 units are planned for production.

Param Bir Singh is a former Indian police officer of the 1988 Indian Police Service (IPS) batch. He served as the Police Commissioner of Mumbai and the Director General (DG) of the Maharashtra Home Guard. Following the filing of extortion cases against him, he was untraceable, and was declared as absconding by a Mumbai Magistrate Court. Singh was suspended from his present position as The DG of the Home Guard because of his absence by the government of Maharashtra.
