The National Assembly is the legislature for Venezuela that was first elected in 2000. It is a unicameral body made up of a variable number of members,who were elected by a "universal,direct,personal,and secret" vote partly by direct election in state-based voting districts,and partly on a state-based party-list proportional representation system. The number of seats is constant,each state and the Capital district elected three representatives plus the result of dividing the state population by 1.1% of the total population of the country. Three seats are reserved for representatives of Venezuela's indigenous peoples and elected separately by all citizens,not just those with indigenous backgrounds. For the 2010 to 2015 the number of seats was 165. All deputies serve five-year terms. The National Assembly meets in the Federal Legislative Palace in Venezuela's capital,Caracas.

Luisa Marvelia Ortega Díaz is a Venezuelan lawyer. Between December 2007 and August 2017,she served as the Prosecutor General of Venezuela. A proponent of the Chavismo ideology,Ortega Díaz was fired as Prosecutor General on 5 August 2017 by the Supreme Tribunal of Justice and the Constituent National Assembly (ANC) promoted by Nicolás Maduro,following a breaking with the Maduro government as a result of the 2017 Venezuelan constitutional crisis in the context of the crisis in Venezuela. This dismissal was rejected by the opposition-led National Assembly of Venezuela,arguing that only that institution had the power to carry out said removal according to the Constitution,and cataloging the Prosecutor as the only legitimate authority of the Public Ministry. As a result,she is called by the National Assembly,the Supreme Tribunal of Justice of Venezuela in exile and some media outlets as the Prosecutor General of Venezuela in exile.
Juan Gerardo Antonio GuaidóMárquez is a Venezuelan opposition politician. He belonged to the social-democratic party Popular Will,and was a federal deputy to the National Assembly representing the state of Vargas. On 23 January 2019,Guaidóand the National Assembly declared that he was acting president of Venezuela,starting the Venezuelan presidential crisis by challenging Nicolás Maduro's presidency. In December 2022,opposition parties voted to dismiss Guaidóas interim president,choosing Dinorah Figuera as a successor on 5 January 2023 and ending Guaidó's presidential claim.

Carol Bealexis Padilla Reyes de Arretureta is a Venezuelan judge currently serving at the First Special Court of First Instance in Control Functions and a substitute judge of the Court of Appeals of the criminal judicial circuit of Caracas. Presidential elections are scheduled to be held in Venezuela in 28 July 2024 to choose a president for a six-year term beginning on 10 January 2025. Leading candidates of the Venezuelan opposition have been disqualified from participating in the election during its campaign or in previous elections. In June 2023,the leading candidate María Corina Machado was barred from participating by the Venezuelan government for alleged political crimes. This move has been regarded by the opposition as violation of political human rights and has been condemned by international bodies like the Organization of American States,the European Union,and Human Rights Watch,as well as countries such as Canada,Chile,Colombia,Ecuador,France,Germany,Mexico,Paraguay,the United Kingdom,the United States and Uruguay.
Raúl Gorrín Belisario is a fugitive Venezuelan lawyer and businessman who currently serves as president of Globovisión and La Vitalicia insurance company. Due to his close relationship with the Venezuelan government,he is currently subjected to US sanctions over a corruption scheme involving bribery payments to Chávez-era government ministers. In November 2019,U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) added Raúl Gorrín to the ICE Most Wanted List accused of money laundering.
The 2020 Venezuelan National Assembly Delegated Committee election was to be held in the ordinary session of the National Assembly on 5 January,in which 160 deputies were to elect the legislature's board of directors for the year 2020–21:the president,the first and second vice presidents,the secretary and the deputy secretary. Operación Alacrán,also known as CLAP affair or PSUV-CLAP faction,is the name given to a corruption plot which was denounced in 2019 by the members of the National Assembly of Venezuela. It would have sought to avoid the re-election of Juan Guaidóon 5 January 2020 as President of the Assembly,by obtaining the support of opposing legislators in exchange for millions of dollars. Legislators would have been asked to vote against Guaidó,or to not attend the election and thereby break the necessary quorum.

He also holds the presidency of the Republican Moral Council,also known as the Moral Power.
