Santha Kumari (born 28 August 1965 [1] ), famously known as Disco Shanti, is an Indian actress who was particularly famous in South India for her appearances in item numbers.

Contents

She has appeared in more than 900 films in different languages of India, including Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Hindi and Odia.

Personal life

Disco Shanti is the daughter of Tamil actor C. L. Anandan, who starred in many films, such as Vijayapuri Veeran and Kaattumallika . She has a younger sister, actress Lalitha Kumari. [2] She married Telugu actor Sri Hari in 1996 [3] and stopped working in movies. [4] The couple had two sons and a daughter. Their daughter Akshara died when she was just four months old. The family started the Akshara Foundation in her memory, which aims to supply villages with fluoride-free water and students with school supplies.[ citation needed ] They also adopted four villages in Medchal. [5] Sri Hari, who had been suffering from a liver ailment for some time, complained of giddiness during the shooting of R... Rajkumar , being directed by Prabhu Deva. He was rushed to a hospital where he died later. [6] [7]

Yaragudipati Varada Rao was an Indian director, producer, actor, screenwriter, and editor known for his works primarily in Telugu, Kannada, and Tamil films. Rao plunged into theatre and did a few stage plays before moving to Kolhapur and Bombay to act in silent films. Rao started his career as a lead actor in many silent films such as Gajendra Moksham (1923), Garuda Garvabhangam (1929), and Rose of Rajasthan (1931). Tamil cinema in Sri Lanka is not as developed as Sinhala cinema or its Indian counterpart, the Tamil cinema of Kodambakkam, Chennai, Tamil Nadu. This is especially due to the high production rates of the influential commercial Tamil films from Tamil Nadu, India and the long run ethnic civil war in Sri Lanka. Tamils contributed significantly to Sinhala cinema as well as Indian Tamil cinema, also known as Kollywood. Only a few Tamil language films were produced in the Northern Province of Sri Lanka. It is an adaptation of Palagummi Padmaraju's Telugu play of the same name, which itself was based on B. S. Ramiah's Tamil play Malliyam Mangalam.

Lalitha Kumari is an Indian actress who worked in Tamil films. She is the daughter of Tamil actor C. L. Anandan and the younger sister of actress Disco Shanti.

Anandan, born as C. L. Anandan, was an Indian actor and producer who was active in Tamil cinema as well in Malayalam cinema during the second half of the 20th century. He was well known for his hero, supporting, and villain roles. In a career spanning close to three decades, he acted in about 60 films in Tamil and Malayalam, in which 25 films had him as hero. Anandan debuted in a supporting role in the Tamil movie Thandhai, and later he holds the heroic role in Vijayapuri Veeran. He made a move on the Malayalam film industry; Kaattumaina was his first Malayalam movie, which was also re-shot in Tamil. He appeared in a song sequence "Us Paar Saajan" as a fisherman dancer from the Hindi film Chori Chori (1956).

Jai Varma is an Indian actor who works predominantly in Tamil films.
