Disney Channel Games are a Battle of the Network Stars -based annual television series that aired on the Disney Channel during the summer from 2006 to 2008. [1] [2] [3] Phill Lewis was the co-host of the first two editions in 2006 and 2007, and Brian Stepanek hosted all three editions. The show had various stars from Disney Channel and its international iterations competing for charity as team-based contestants. The Games were filmed at Disney's Wide World of Sports in Orlando. Disney Channel Games were not aired after 2008, but a similar series called Disney's Friends for Change Games aired in 2011.

The Disney Channel Games began as a series of shorts[ citation needed ] that aired during summer 2006. A second edition followed in summer 2007, with the final edition of the series airing in summer 2008.

A Disney spokesperson confirmed in February 2009 that the Disney Channel Games would not be held that year due to actor availability and Disney's "focusing on the launch of a new pro-social initiative with Disney Channel and Disney XD stars". [5] [6] The result was Disney's Friends for Change initiative. [7] The series also did not air in 2010. [8]

Disney's Friends for Change Games aired on the Disney Channel as part of Disney's Friends for Change initiative. It replaced the Disney Channel Games. The series was hosted by Jason Earles and Tiffany Thornton, [9] and again featured various Disney Channel stars as team-based contestants competing for their chosen charity. Disney's Friends for Change Games premiered on June 24, 2011, and aired five episodes through July 31, 2011, plus a recap special.

The first event was viewed by between 3.4 million and 4.9 million viewers. [10] The finale special was viewed by 3.6 million viewers, with Kids 6–11 (1.9 million/7.7 rating) and Tweens 9–14 (1.6 million/6.4 rating) making up a sizable portion of the total. [11] The entire series was viewed by over 37 million unique viewers. [11]

The series follows stepbrothers Phineas Flynn and Ferb Fletcher during summer vacation. Every day, the boys undertake the construction of a grand project, or embark on a spectacular adventure, to make the most of their time on vacation. This annoys their controlling older sister Candace, who frequently tries to expose their schemes to her and Phineas's mother. The series follows a standard plot system; running gags occur in every episode.

<i>Lost</i> (season 5) Season of television series

The fifth season of the American serial drama television series Lost commenced airing on the ABC network in the United States and on A in Canada in January 2009, and concluded with a two-hour season finale on May 13, 2009. The Suite Life on Deck is an American teen sitcom that aired on Disney Channel from September 26, 2008, to May 6, 2011. It is a sequel/spin-off of the Disney Channel Original Series The Suite Life of Zack & Cody. The series follows twin brothers Zack and Cody Martin and hotel heiress London Tipton in a new setting, the SS Tipton, where they study-abroad at Seven Seas High School and meet Bailey Pickett while Mr. Moseby manages the ship. The ship travels around the world to nations such as Italy, France, Greece, India, Sweden and the United Kingdom where the characters experience different cultures, adventures, and situations.

<i>Hannah Montana</i> (season 3) Season of television series

The third season of American show Disney Channel teen sitcom Hannah Montana aired from November 2, 2008 until March 14, 2010. Filming for the season started a day after the 2008 Teen Choice Awards on August 5, 2008. The third season of Hannah Montana focuses on how the characters grow up than the previous seasons. Hannah has grown up into a new look. Different from the previous two seasons, she has shorter hair and an untraditional style which includes a lot of zebra print and unique boots. Oliver and Lilly start dating starting from the episode "What I Don't Like About You". Later, Lilly moves in with the Stewarts. At the end of the season, the Stewarts and Lilly move from Malibu while Oliver prepares to go on tour with a band. This is the last season to be broadcast in Standard Definition.

<i>Hannah Montana</i> (season 4) Season of television series

The fourth and final season of the television series Hannah Montana began airing on Disney Channel on July 11, 2010. In this season, Mitchel Musso's character Oliver Oken becomes a recurring character, and is no longer in the main cast due to Musso preparing for the Disney XD series Pair of Kings. This is the only season of the show to be broadcast in high-definition. The season ended on January 16, 2011.

<i>Jonas</i> (season 1) Season of television series

The first season of the television series Jonas was aired on Disney Channel from May 2, 2009, to March 14, 2010, and included 21 episodes. It introduces the six main characters of the series and follows the Jonas Brothers as they live pop star lives and deal with ordinary teenage problems.

The second season of Phineas and Ferb premiered on Disney XD on February 19, 2009. A preview of the season was shown on Toon Disney on January 23, 2009, with the episode "Tip of the Day". The season features two step-brothers on summer vacation trying to make every day the best day ever, while their sister tries to bust them. <i>PrankStars</i> American TV series or program

PrankStars is a 2011 American reality television series that aired monthly and employed the use of a hidden camera. The series premiered on Disney Channel on July 15, 2011, and was hosted by Pair of Kings and Hannah Montana star, Mitchel Musso. The television program portrayed scenarios in which children and teenagers met their favorite stars in "unpredictable and humorous" settings that had been engineered by their friends and family. The show was Disney Channel's first reality series since the Totally in Tune show. In Canada, Family Channel aired two episodes of PrankStars on September 30, 2011, and a total of four episodes were originally supposed to broadcast before the series was withdrawn. The fourth episode aired a day before Musso's mid-October 2011 arrest on a charge of driving while intoxicated, and the remaining two episodes premiered solely in Europe and Latin America.
