Donna Taberer is a British television producer and former head of entertainment at Channel 5.
She was born in East Sussex. She attended grammar school in East Sussex.[ citation needed ]
She began as a journalist at the age of 18, and trained on the NCTJ course.[ citation needed ]
She joined the BBC in 1990 as a researcher on That's Life! . She worked in factual programmes and factual entertainment as an executive producer. She oversaw the Children's Party at the Palace in 2006.[ citation needed ]
She rejoined the BBC in September 2010. [1]
From 2006 to 2009 she was in charge of commissioning entertainment on Sky 1, Sky 2 and Sky 3.
In August 2009 she joined Five as their head of Entertainment, [2] where she stayed for a year.
In September 2010, Taberer joined the BBC Academy [2] where she is head of public service partnerships; [3] the Academy includes, among other initiatives, a media training program for journalists and other experts aimed at helping to achieve gender parity on television. [4]
That's Life! was a satirical consumer affairs programme on the BBC, at its height regularly reaching audiences of fifteen to twenty million, and receiving 10–15,000 letters a week. The series was broadcast on BBC1 for 21 years, from 26 May 1973 until 19 June 1994.

He is a law graduate with experience in consumer and legal programming. In 2013/14, Hanrahan also returned to radio presenting as a guest host on BBC Radio in 2014 and 2015. In 2017, his legal TV series 'The Jury Room' for CBS Reality also saw him present a six-part Podcast.

Prior to taking up that role, she held a number of senior positions at Sky in the UK, including their director of film and managing director of content. She previously worked for the BBC as the acting director of television and, along with Peter Orton and Jim Henson, was a founder of HIT Entertainment. In March 2022, she was named Chair of National Film and Television School.
