DrMaster Publications Inc. was an American distributor of manga and manhua with offices in the United States, Republic of China and Japan. It was headquartered in Fremont, California. [1]

It began strictly as a printer of manga, and entered the publishing business after taking over most of ComicsOne's manga and manhua titles.

DrMaster's Publications Inc. went out of business around 2009 and its offices in Fremont are gone. The building was later occupied by Sunesys Telecommunications. [2]

<i>Manhua</i> Chinese-language comics produced in mainland China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan

Manhua are Chinese comics produced in China and in the Greater China region. Whilst Chinese comics and narrated illustrations have existed in China in some shape or form throughout its imperial history, the term manhua first appeared in 1904 in a comic titled Current Affairs Comics or shíshì mànhuà (时事漫画) in the Shanghai-based newspaper Jingzhong Daily (警钟日报).

Nihon Ad Systems, Inc., NAS for short, is a Japanese anime production and character merchandising company, a wholly owned subsidiary of the advertising agency Asatsu-DK. The "Ad" in its title is an abbreviation for "Animation Development". VIZ Media LLC is an American manga publisher, anime distributor and entertainment company headquartered in San Francisco, California. It was founded in 1986 as VIZ LLC. In 2005, VIZ LLC and ShoPro Entertainment merged to form the current VIZ Media LLC, which is owned by Japanese publishing conglomerates Shueisha and Shogakukan, as well as Japanese production company Shogakukan-Shueisha Productions (ShoPro). In 2017, Viz Media was the largest publisher of graphic novels in the United States, with a 23% share of the market. In 2020, Viz Media saw a 70% growth in the U.S. market, in line with a 43% increase in overall manga sales in the United States the same year.

Gangan is a manga imprint owned by Square Enix Holdings. It originated as a manga imprint for Enix before the company re-branded as Square Enix. It publishes manga in several anthologies aimed at different reader demographic groups in the Japanese market. Its anthologies are home to some popular Square Enix manga series which were adapted into anime series, like Fullmetal Alchemist, Moribito: Guardian of the Spirit, Nabari no Ou, Inu x Boku SS, The Case Study of Vanitas and Soul Eater. The comics are later collected in paperback volumes under brand names such as Gangan Comics, Gangan Comics Joker and Young Gangan Comics, which identify the anthology of serialisation. These paperback brand names are formed by omitting any gekkan or shōnen in the magazine name and inserting comics directly after the word gangan.

Animation-Comic-Game Hong Kong is a material-entertainment fair and book fair focusing on animations, manga, and games based in Hong Kong. It is held annually at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre usually around August, exhibiting and selling comic books and comic-related / animation-related / game-related products. The categories of products and services in ACGHK have steadily expanded over the years.

Stray Little Devil is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Kotaro Mori. The manga was originally serialized in Dengeki Comic Gao!, and was later published into five bound volumes by MediaWorks from January 2005 to March 2007. DrMaster Publications Inc. licensed the manga series for English-language publication in North America and released the five volumes between June 2006 and November 2007. The story is a comedic fantasy, detailing the life of a girl named Pam Akumachi, who is unintentionally drawn into the "Spirit World". Her only hope of returning home is a mysterious individual named Remy, who promises to tell Pam the way back if she becomes a full-fledged devil by passing through the devils' educational system.

Oriental Heroes is a popular Hong Kong-based manhua created by Wong Yuk-long, a writer/artist responsible for also creating a number of other popular manhua titles. It was created in 1970, and it continues to be published today. The book was the first Hong Kong manhua title based on action and fighting, often borrowing from the wuxia literary world. It established a new action genre of Hong Kong manhua and spawned many imitators. The theme of its stories often revolve around brotherhood and the fight for justice. The 2006 movie Dragon Tiger Gate was based on this manhua.

Yi Huan, occasionally credited as I-Huan, is a Taiwanese comic creator of manhua aimed at girls. She has written and illustrated many series, two of which have been licensed for publication in English.

Toyoo Ashida was an anime character designer, animation director and director. He was most notable for directing the original Vampire Hunter D anime, as well as for providing character designs for Vifam, Mashin Hero Wataru, Minky Momo and F-Zero GP Legend. He is the founder of the anime production studio, Studio Live and as well as the Japanese Animation Creators Association (JAniCA) along with Satoshi Kon.

Risa Mizuno is a Japanese voice actress associated with Production Ogi. She debuted in 2000 in Medabots Spirits and has voiced major characters in Bomberman Jetters, Gunslinger Girl: Il Teatrino, Akame ga Kill!, Windy Tales, Le Chevalier D'Eon, Code-E, Shion no Ō, Bakugan Battle Brawlers, and Luck & Logic, as well as supporting characters in AM Driver and Idaten Jump.
