Manhattan College is a private, Catholic, liberal arts university in the Bronx, New York City. Originally established in 1853 by the Brothers of the Christian Schools as an academy for day students, it was later incorporated as an institution of higher education through a charter granted by the New York State Board of Regents. In 1922, it moved from Manhattan to the Riverdale section of the Bronx, roughly 6.4 miles (10.3 km) north of its original location on 131st Street in Manhattanville.
Francis S. Levien Gymnasium is a 2,500-seat arena at Columbia University in Morningside Heights, Manhattan, New York City. Named for New York lawyer-industrialist Francis S. Levien (1905–95), it is home to the Columbia Men's and Women's Basketball teams and the Women's Volleyball team. It is also used for gym classes in between games. Part of the Marcellus Hartley Dodge Physical Fitness Center, Levien Gym opened in 1974 as a replacement for the old University Gym, which is still used for intramural sports.
McDonough Gymnasium, sometimes referred to as McDonough Arena when hosting a sports or entertainment event, is a multi-purpose arena on the campus of Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. Officially known as McDonough Memorial Gymnasium, it opened in 1951 and can hold 2,200 spectators for sports events.

They finished the season 21–13, 12–6 in MAAC play to finish in a tie for third place. They lost in the quarterfinals of the MAAC Basketball tournament to Siena. They were invited to the 2012 CollegeInsider.com Tournament where they defeated Albany in the first round before falling in the second round to fellow MAAC member Fairfield.
Vincent dePaul Draddy was an American entrepreneur and scholar-athlete at Manhattan College, who later served as chairman of the College Football Hall of Fame.

The Battle of the Bronx is a college sports rivalry between Manhattan College and Fordham University, two NCAA Division I schools that play in The Bronx district of New York City. The rivalry dates back to the men's basketball teams playing in 1911 and has since grown into a multi-sport rivalry, and one of the largest intra-city college rivalries in New York City.

Playing as the No. 12 seed in the Atlanta region, Manhattan upset No. 5 seed Florida in the opening round before pushing No. 4 seed Wake Forest to the brink before falling, 84–80.

Playing as the No. 13 seed in the Southeast region, the Jaspers upset No. 4 seed Oklahoma in the opening round. Manhattan was beaten by No. 5 seed Arizona State in the round of 32.
