Drew Wylie is a Gaelic footballer who plays for Ballybay Pearse Brothers and at senior level for the Monaghan county team. [1] He got himself an All-Star nom in 2013. [2]

Unusually for a Gaelic footballer, Wylie is actually a Protestant, which Cavan midfielder Gearoit McKiernan reminded him in the 2015 Dr McKenna Cup, instant red card for McKiernan from Sean Hurson over that, then a ban for bad language over what is believed to be a first, a red card used for racist or sectarian abuse. [3] He is a brother of Ryan. [4] A full-back, married to Aoife and trained as a carpenter, he was part of the team that got to the All Ireland semi final in 2018, Kerry's Seán O'Shea and David Clifford have also taunted Wylie, their family of Protestants have no ancestry in the GAA, he was brought in through living next to Kieran Finlay, the Monaghan player who is the father of Paul Finlay, Wylie went to Ballybay Central School and Castleblayney College, where no one played Gaelic. Carrickmacross Emmets is a Gaelic football club from Carrickmacross in County Monaghan in Ireland. The club was founded in 1887. The club participates in Monaghan competitions. The club has won the Monaghan Senior Football Championship eight times and have come runner-up seven times. The Club colours are Green and Yellow. The first club grounds played on were Athletic Grounds, then the Gaelic Grounds. In 1938 the club moved to its present grounds at Emmet Park, which was developed into one of the best venues in the county. It was officially opened in 1953 when Monaghan played Meath. In recent years the club secured property on the Donaghmoyne Road and have developed a full size playing pitch and a training area along with modern changing facilities that can cater for four teams. At present the site is chiefly used for training purposes for adult and juvenile teams as well as ladies and hurling teams but games can be played there when necessary.

Tomás "Tommy" Freeman is an Irish Gaelic footballer from Magheracloone, County Monaghan. He plays at senior level for the Monaghan county team. He received an All Star Award in 2007. Freeman plays his club football for Magheracloone Mitchells.

Paul Finlay is an Irish Gaelic footballer who plays for Ballybay Pearse Brothers. He played at senior level for the Monaghan county team between 2002 and 2016.

Tassan Rovers GAA

Tassan Rovers GAA was a Gaelic football team in Tassan, County Monaghan, Ireland. The Tassan team came together in early 1937 and participated in the Junior League Mid Monaghan section. The team was managed by Francis Brennan, John Mulligan, Peter Flanagan and Frank Murphy. Paddy Morgan, Lisdrumgormely was also associated with the team. The Tassan team wore red jerseys and trained and played football in a local meadow field known as the "Boggan" owned by Peter Flanagan and located up the Tassan road from Tommy Conlan's cottage and across the road from Owenie Morgan's house.

Ryan Wylie is a Gaelic footballer who plays for Ballybay Pearse Brothers, UCD and at senior level for the Monaghan county team. He took over as captain of Monaghan in 2020 and was captaining Monaghan in 2020 when COVID-19 came along. He was captaining them again in 2021 when the community numbed with the under-20 car crash.

Kieran "Jap" Finlay was a Gaelic footballer who played for Ballybay Pearse Brothers and at senior level for the Monaghan county team and the he the father of Paul Finlay.
