Drop Dead Weird is an Australian-Irish children's comedy drama television series screening on the Seven Network's digital channel 7TWO from 6 November 2017. [1] This Australian/Irish co-production was created by Sally Browning and Dean Cropp. It was written by Stephen Abbott, Warren Coleman and Tadhg Mac Dhonnagain and directed by Beth Armstrong, Danny Raco and Glenn Fraser. [2] The series was also broadcast on CITV in the United Kingdom from June 2019.
The Champs are an Australian family who move to Tubbershandy, an isolated seaside village in western Ireland to save the Bed & Breakfast run by their Irish grandfather. The three Aussie children Lulu, Bruce and Frankie are finding it hard to fit into a new hometown but also hide the secret that their parents recently became zombies. The kids must keep the truth under wraps from the community and in particular, local identity Bernadette (Bunni) Shanahan. [3]

Home and Away is an Australian television soap opera. It was created by Alan Bateman and commenced broadcast on the Seven Network on 17 January 1988. Bateman came up with the concept of the show during a trip to Kangaroo Point, New South Wales, where he noticed locals were complaining about the construction of a foster home and against the idea of foster children from the city living in the area. John Stanley was an American cartoonist and comic book writer, best known for writing Little Lulu comic book stories from 1945 to 1959. While mostly known for scripting, Stanley also drew many of his stories, including the earliest issues of Little Lulu and its Tubby spinoff series. His specialty was humorous stories, both with licensed characters and those of his own creation. His writing style has been described as employing "colorful, S. J. Perelman-ish language and a decidedly bizarre, macabre wit ", with storylines that "were cohesive and tightly constructed, with nary a loose thread in the plot". He has been compared to Carl Barks, and cartoonist Fred Hembeck has dubbed him "the most consistently funny cartoonist to work in the comic book medium". Captain Marvel co-creator C. C. Beck remarked, "The only comic books I ever read and enjoyed were Little Lulu and Donald Duck".

The eight-part series was co-created by Andrew Knight, Marta Dusseldorp and Max Dann. Filming began in June 2022 with Natalie Bailey and Wayne Blair each directing four episodes. Locations used include the west Tasmanian towns of Queenstown, Strahan and Zeehan. Dusseldorp also co-produced with Yvonne Collins. The series title references the actual Bay of Fires on Tasmania's east coast.
