Dynda (also stylized as DynDa) was a Singaporean girl group formed in 2009. [1] The group members are Setia Vegawati, Shenthy Feliziana Sudirman, Nurrenni Mohd Nor and Nur Rahila Redzuan. The group incorporates dance and hip-hop genres in their musical style. [2] Dynda disbanded in 2014 due to an internal conflict within the group.

Career

Dynda was formed in December 2009 when Cat Farish, a member of Malaysian R&B group Ruffedge, discovered them while participating in Impak Maksima the Musical theatrical staging took place on The Esplanade, where they perform as backstage dancers. Working under Farish, the group launched their debut single "AMPM" composed by Cat, Adeep Nahar, Aiqa Halim and Francis Cobb in July 2010 under the label Alibi Music, followed by their next single, "Babe ... Hanya Kamu" in February 2011, to promote this single, Dynda has held a Babe ... Only You Dance Off competition to find dancers to appear in their music videos. [3] Dynda went on to record and released further singles afterwards. After five singles released, they disbanded in 2014 due to an internal conflict within the group and now some of the ex-members have their own respective careers except for Setia, whose career has unfortunately gone downhill afterwards. One of the members, Shenty Feliziana has a successful career as an actress and television presenter.

The Sugarhill Gang is an American hip hop group, formed in Englewood, New Jersey in 1979. Their hit "Rapper's Delight", released the same year they were formed, was the first rap single to become a top 40 hit on the Billboard Hot 100; reaching a peak position of number 36 on January 12, 1980. This was the trio's only U.S. hit, though they would have further success in Europe until the mid-1980s. The trio reformed in 1994 and embarked on a world tour in 2016.

Stetsasonic is an American hip hop band. Formed in 1981 in Brooklyn, New York City, New York, Stetsasonic was one of the first hip hop acts to perform with a full band and use live instrumentation in their recordings, paving the way for future hip hop bands such as The Roots. The band combined beat-boxing, sampling technology, and live band performance, incorporating R&B, jazz, dancehall reggae, and rock into its sound. Stetsasonic is also considered one of the acts that pioneered jazz rap.

The Malaysian hip hop is a hip hop music performed in Malaysia. Many of Malaysian hip hop artistes performed songs mostly in English, but also rhymed in their native Malay language.

<i>Gravity</i> (Bush Babees album) 1996 studio album by Bush Babees

Gravity is the second album by the hip hop group Da Bush Babees, released in 1996. The crew got help from a number of fellow Native Tongues members, including the Ummah, Mos Def and De La Soul's Posdnous. The lead single "The Love Song" received strong airplay prior to the album's release. Along with De La Soul's Stakes Is High, Gravity is notable for jump-starting the hip-hop career of Mos Def, who is featured on three tracks on the album. Warner Bros. released the group from its contract after the album ran its course.

Ahli Fiqir was a Singaporean hip hop group consisting of Samsolnahar Sibengat, Fadali Mohd Darif, Noor Hidayati Mohamed Yusop and Ceza Mutyara. The group, whose career spanned 8 years and widely known in Singapore and Malaysia, known for preserving the Malay language into their music, and has several hit singles including "Samseng", "Angguk-Angguk, Geleng-Geleng", "Tik Tok Simpati", "2x5", "Dia Datang" and "Derita Merindu". Ahli Fiqir disbanded in 2010.

Asian hip hop is a heterogeneous musical genre that covers all hip hop music as recorded and produced by artists of Asian origin.

Estranged is a Malaysian alternative rock band that formed in Damansara, Kuala Lumpur in 2001. Currently comprising vocalist Rich Gimbang –who was known as a contestant in the 4th season of Akademi Fantasia–, lead guitarist Nor Hanafi and rhythm guitarist Din Hormatov, the band have released three full-length albums: In Hating Memory (2004), Remain Unknown (2008), Anugerah Hidup (2013) and an extended play (EP): Sepenuhnya Vol. 1 (2016). Dolla is a four-member Malaysian girl group formed in 2019 by Universal Music Malaysia. Its members consists of Sabronzo, Tabby, Angel, and Syasya. The group is known for their vocal, dance & rap elements in their performances. They signed a contract with Universal Music Malaysia and released their debut single "Dolla Make You Wanna" on 20 March 2020. The group fandom is called "iDolla".
