The Super 8 Tournament is an annual professional wrestling tournament held by the East Coast Wrestling Association. The tournament is contested by eight wrestlers in a one-night single-elimination format. [1]

Contents

History

The ECWA Super 8 Tournament was first held in 1997 and was won by Ace Darling. [1] The 2011 tournament was broadcast live as an internet pay-per-view for the first time. [1] [2] The 2011 tournament was also the first time the tournament had been held outside of Delaware. [3] Christopher Daniels is the only two time winner.

The inaugural Super 8 Tournament took part on February 22, 1997, at the St. Matthew's Parish in Wilmington, Delaware. [17] [18] In the tournament finals, Ace Darling defeated Cheetah Master (accompanied by WWE Hall of Famer Lou Albano) to win the tournament and the vacant ECWA Television Championship. [4] [17]

The second Super 8 Tournament took part on March 21, 1998, at the Saint Matthews Parish Hall in Wilmington, Delaware. [17] [19] Lance Diamond won the tournament after defeating Inferno Kid in the finals. [5] [20]

Mark Shrader is a retired American professional wrestler, trainer and promoter who competed in numerous independent promotions throughout the United States during the 1990s and early 2000s.
