Electric Raceabout (ERA) is an all-electric sports car developed by the Helsinki Metropolia University of Applied Sciences. It contains lithium-titanate batteries, four direct-drive electric motors, and a carbon fiber monocoque chassis with steel sub-frames.

ERA has an operational range of 200 km. Its total weight is 1,700 kg with a 550 kg battery pack. The power output of its engines is 200 kW with a peak output of 300 kW / 10 seconds. The engine's nominal torque is 1000 Nm with a peak torque of 3200 Nm. ERA has a top speed of 200 km/h with 0100 km acceleration in 6.0 seconds.

ERA was introduced in the summer of 2009 with a target to reach low-volume production.

ERA took part in the Automotive X Prize competition and came in second in its class. [1] ERA made a new road-legal electric vehicle lap record in Nürburgring Nordschleife in September 2011. [2] [3]

In the winter of 2011–2012, ERA had its inverters, aerodynamics, and power steering upgraded after improvements, ERA's total motor power of 282 kW was measured on the dynamometer. In March 2012, ERA topped a speed of 260 km/h while driving on the ice at Lake Ukonjärvi, Inari. With an average speed of 252 km/h, ERA is the fastest EV on ice. ERA was parked outside in freezing temperatures before the event, proving that an EV can operate in freezing temperatures.

Chinese car manufacturer AET is planning to produce electric cars based on ERA technology. [4]

The business was temporarily closed in May 2014, and following a buyout by London-based investor Roheen Berry who took over as CEO, it is set to return with a new model, powered by a BMW M division-sourced V8 engine. The relaunch of the Wiesmann brand has more than one model, including an electric vehicle, in the pipeline and the pre-development phase of the car has been completed. A teaser video of the brand's rebirth, posted on their website, tells viewers to “expect the unexpected”.

The Ruf CTR also known as the CTR Yellowbird or simply Yellowbird, is a limited-production, high performance sports car manufactured by German automobile manufacturer Ruf Automobile. Introduced for the 1987 model year and based on the Porsche 911, the CTR featured an enlarged and highly tuned version of Porsche's 3.2 litre flat-six cylinder engine, lightened body panels, an integrated roll cage, upgraded suspension and braking systems, a custom-designed transmission, and several unique trim pieces such as polyurethane bumpers, and the use of the side-mounted oil filler necessitated by relocating the oil tank forward to clear the intercooler on that side.

The Porsche 911 GT2 is a high-performance, track-focused sports car built by the German automobile manufacturer Porsche from 1993 to 2009, and then since 2010 as the GT2 RS. It is based on the 911 Turbo, and uses a similar twin-turbocharged engine, but features numerous upgrades, including engine enhancements, larger brakes, and stiffer suspension calibration.
