Elijah Blue Allman (born July 10, 1976), known professionally as P. Exeter Blue I (Phillips Exeter Blue), is an American musician, and the son of singer Cher [1] and her second husband, Gregg Allman; [2] he is the half-brother of Chaz Bono, Delilah Allman, Michael Allman, Layla Allman, and Devon Allman. He is the lead vocalist, guitarist and lyricist of the industrial metal band Deadsy.

Career

Allman is the singer and guitarist for the rock band Deadsy [3] which, prior to its hiatus in April 2007, consisted of Alec Püre on drums, Dr. Nner on synthesizer, Carlton Megalodon on Ztar, and Jens Funke on bass. Deadsy released two albums: 2002's Commencement , and Phantasmagore , which came out on August 22, 2006. Many of the themes used by Allman in Deadsy have been heavily influenced by the 1955 film This Island Earth .

He was given his first guitar by Kiss bassist Gene Simmons, [4] and at age 13 he went on tour as a guitarist with Cher; he appears as a guitarist in the music video for her song "If I Could Turn Back Time". In 1994, he auditioned for the spot of guitarist for Nine Inch Nails, but ended up losing the spot to Robin Finck.

He has worked with Thirty Seconds to Mars for the band's self-titled debut album. [5] and has also provided guest vocals on a variety of songs for other bands including Orgy, Coal Chamber and Sugar Ray.

Personal life

Allman attended the Hyde School in Bath, Maine, graduating in 1994. [6] [7]

Allman has dated Bijou Phillips, [8] Heather Graham, [9] Kate Hudson, [10] and Paris Hilton. [9]

Through his mother Cher, Allman is of Armenian, Irish, English, and German ancestry. [11]

On December 1, 2013, he married Marieangela King, "Queenie", an English singer, of the band KING and sister of Jazzy and Ruby King from the British pop duo Blonde Electra. [12] The couple broke up on April 20, 2020, and Allman filed for divorce the following year. [13] The divorce has been dismissed and the couple remain together. [14]

In 2014, Allman admitted that he began taking drugs at age 11 and battled heroin addiction for years, but claimed that he has been sober since 2008. [15]

In 2023, Allman's wife, Marieangela King, alleged in a court filing that, on his mother's orders, Allman had been kidnapped from a hotel room where they had been trying to "work out their marriage" on their anniversary in November 2022. King said that she did not know where he was and had no way to contact him. [16] [17]

In 2023, Allman's mother, Cher, filed for a conservatorship over Allman due to his ongoing substance abuse issues. [18] [19] Prior to the hearing on January 5, 2024, Allman withdrew his divorce filing and retained attorneys to contest the conservatorship. He attended the hearing with his attorneys and successfully argued to postpone the hearing due to Cher’s attorneys’ failure to provide proper notice. Cher's motion for the temporary conservatorship was denied on January 30, 2024. [20]

Deadsy is the debut studio album by American industrial rock band Deadsy. It was scheduled for release on February 25, 1997, by Sire Records. Several promotional compact discs and compact cassettes of the album, as well as a CD-single for "The Elements", were sent out to members of the press and radio stations, but the release was pulled less than a month before its release date by distributor Elektra Entertainment Group. Sire Records eventually secured a new distribution deal through Warner Music Group but it was again shelved; the release ultimately evolved into Commencement in 1998.

"Blue Sky" is a song by the American rock band The Allman Brothers Band from their third studio album, Eat a Peach (1972), released on Capricorn Records. The song was written and sung by guitarist Dickey Betts, who penned it about his girlfriend, Sandy "Bluesky" Wabegijig. The track is also notable as one of guitarist Duane Allman's final recorded performances with the group. The band's two guitarists, Duane Allman and Dickey Betts, alternate playing the song's lead: Allman's solo beginning 1:07 in, Betts joining in a shared melody line at 2:28, followed by Betts's solo at 2:37. The song is notably more country-inspired than many songs in the band's catalogue.

Where It All Begins is the eleventh studio album by the Allman Brothers Band. "No One to Run With" obtained the most album-oriented rock airplay, while "Soulshine", written by Warren Haynes, gained success as a concert and fan favorite. Gregg Allman also started to confront his substance abuse problems in the past on songs such as "All Night Train". The album sold considerably better than its predecessor, Shades of Two Worlds. In 1998, the album went Gold. Nevertheless, critical reception was weaker. This was also the last studio album the group recorded with original guitarist Dickey Betts.

The Two the Hard Way Tour was a concert tour by the American singer-actress Cher and the American singer Gregg Allman, designed to promote their joint Two the Hard Way album. Because of the album's commercial failure, the dates of the tour in the United States were very limited, although there were more dates in Japan, Oceania and Europe.
