Talladega is the county seat of Talladega County, Alabama, United States. It was incorporated in 1835. At the 2020 census, the population was 15,861. Talladega is approximately 50 miles (80 km) east of one of the state’s largest cities, Birmingham.

The J. L. M. Curry House is a historic house and farm property near Talladega, Alabama. It was home Jabez Lamar Monroe Curry (1825–1903), a lawyer, politician, and educator who "did more than any one other man to encourage the expansion and improvement of the public school system and the establishment of training schools for teachers throughout the south. He was also largely responsible for convincing Southern legislators of the states' responsibility for public education." The house and surrounding farm was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1965.
Swayne Hall is the oldest building on the campus of Talladega College in Talladega, Talladega County, Alabama, United States. It was built in 1857 by slaves for use by a Baptist men's college. It was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1974 for Talladega College's role as one of the few historically black colleges and universities to maintain a liberal arts focus. It was the only liberal arts college open to black Americans in Alabama for many years.

The Maj. Isaac C. Elston House, also known as Elston Homestead, is a historic home located at Crawfordsville, Montgomery County, Indiana, United States. It was the home of Maj. Isaac Compton Elston, who fought in the War of 1812 and the Black Hawk War. When he was 39, he moved to Indiana and became a frontier merchant, banker and financier. The Home was given to Wabash College by his grandson, Isaac Compton Elston, Jr. (1873-1964) and is now used as the President's home.
Idlewild is a historic plantation house and historic district just east of Talladega, Alabama, United States. The property was added to the Alabama Register of Landmarks and Heritage and the National Register of Historic Places in 1993, due to its architectural significance.
Thornhill, also known as the Hade–Lewis House, is a plantation in Talladega County, Alabama, built beginning in 1835 by planter John Hardie. Hardie was an immigrant from Scotland, arriving in the Alabama Territory in 1818 after first spending time in New York and Virginia. He acquired the 700 acres (280 ha) of land for Thornhill in 1834 or 1835. The topology of the land reminded Hardie of his father's Thorn Hill Farm in Kinross, Scotland, so he named the property Thornhill. Cotton was the primary crop grown at Thornhill with about 50 enslaved people being held at the plantation by Hardie.
Orange Vale, also known as the Lawler-Whiting House, is a Greek Revival plantation house completed in 1854 near Talladega, Alabama. The house was the centerpiece of a 3,000-acre (1,200 ha) cotton plantation, a forced-labor farm worked by black people enslaved by the land's white owners.
Elston Grove Historic District is a national historic district located at Crawfordsville, Montgomery County, Indiana. The district encompasses 138 contributing buildings and 8 contributing structures in a predominantly residential section of Crawfordsville. It developed between about 1835 and 1935, and includes notable examples of Italianate, Queen Anne, and Colonial Revival style architecture. Located in the district are the separately listed Col. Isaac C. Elston House, Henry S. Lane House, and Gen. Lew Wallace Study. Other notable buildings include the Galey House (1848), Campbell House (1852), T.S. Scott House, Powers House (1862), Blair House, Hadley and Hornaday Houses (1878), Alfrey House (1885), Detchon House, Ashley House, Snyder House, and Voris House.
The Letovsky-Rohret House is a historic building located in Iowa City, Iowa, United States. This simple two-story wood-frame structure largely embodies the Greek Revival style with its side gable roof, entablature window and door heads, boxed cornice and plain frieze, and its pedimented attic vents. The tall windows on the first floor and arched windows on the main door reflect elements of the Italianate style. Built in 1881, the house originally faced Van Buren Street, but it was turned to face Davenport Street in 1919 and placed on the eastern end of its lot so two more house could be built there.
