Elvis Nolasco is an American actor, best known for his roles in MGM+'s NAACP crime drama Godfather of Harlem and ABC's anthology series American Crime .
His latest production work includes the 2022 short fantasy film, Ro & the Stardust, which received noteworthy awards during the 2022 DTLA Film Festival and the Philadelphia Film Festival . In 2018, Nolasco successfully made his directorial debut at the Pan African Film Festival (PAFF) in Los Angeles for his short film, Time 2 Surrender, of which he wrote, produced, directed, and starred in. The film was purchased by FOX Soul TV.
Nolasco, who was born and raised in the U.S. and is of Dominican descent, can also be seen starring in bilingual films including the 2021 crime drama, Sinaliento, where he was awarded "Best Actor" for his lead role at the 10th Annual Dominican Film Festival In New York.
In 2023, viewers have seen see Nolasco playing Nat Pettigrew in Season 3 of Godfather of Harlem, and Jorge Ramirez, a Bakersfield, CA man who was wrongfully killed during a 2013 officer-involved shooting, in docuseries, Killing County.

In 2015, Nolasco portrayed Carter Nix in the first season of American Crime. [3] [4] He returned for the second season to play Chris Dixon, a public school principal. [5]

Da Sweet Blood of Jesus is a 2014 American horror film directed by Spike Lee. The plot is about a wealthy anthropologist who is stabbed by an ancient African dagger and turned into a vampire. Lee has said the film is about "[h]uman beings who are addicted to blood" and called it "[a] new kind of love story." The film is a remake of the 1973 film Ganja & Hess. It was the first of Lee's films to be funded through Kickstarter. The film was released on June 22, 2014, at the American Black Film Festival as the closing film, and was released in theaters and on VOD on February 14, 2015, by Gravitas Ventures.

On January 1, 2018, the series was renewed for a second season, which premiered on May 24, 2019. On July 17, 2019, Netflix canceled the series after two seasons.

On February 12, 2020, the series was renewed for a second season; which premiered on April 18, 2021. On January 13, 2022, the series was renewed for a third season, which premiered on January 15, 2023, on the rebranded MGM+. On November 29, 2023, the series was renewed for a fourth season.
