The Embassy of the United States in Tashkent is the diplomatic mission of the United States of America in Uzbekistan.
The United States was one of the first countries to recognize Uzbekistan as an independent state. On December 25, 1991, President George H.W. Bush recognized Uzbekistan’s independence in an address concerning the dissolution of the Soviet Union. [1] Subsequently, the American Embassy in Tashkent was established on March 16, 1992, with Michael Mozur serving as the Chargé d'Affaires ad interim. Uzbekistan had previously been a constituent republic of the USSR, and it briefly joined the United States as an ally in the War on Terror. [1]
Initially, the embassy was located in the Chilanzar district, on Chilanzarskaya Street. [2] In February 2006, the American Embassy in Uzbekistan moved to a new embassy complex in the Yunusabad district, on Maykurgan Street [3]
In the broader regional context, the embassy functions within the framework of the C5+1 diplomatic platform involving the United States and the five Central Asian Republics: Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan. [4]
The Byelorussian SSR was one of only two Soviet republics to be separate members of the United Nations. Both republics and the Soviet Union joined the UN when the organization was founded in 1945.

Uzbekistan is an active supporter of U.S. efforts against worldwide terrorism and joined the coalitions which have dealt with both Afghanistan and Iraq. It is a member of the United Nations, the Euro-Atlantic Partnership Council, Partnership for Peace, and the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE). It belongs to the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and the Economic Cooperation Organization, which comprises 7 Central Asian countries: Pakistan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Afghanistan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan. It is a founding member of and remains involved in the Central Asian Union, formed with Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, joined in March 1998 by Tajikistan.

Visitors to Uzbekistan must obtain a visa from one of the Uzbekistan diplomatic missions unless they are citizens of one of the visa-exempt countries or citizens eligible for an e-Visa.
Malaysia–Uzbekistan relations refers to a foreign relations between the two countries, Malaysia and Uzbekistan. Malaysia has an embassy in Tashkent, and Uzbekistan has an embassy in Ampang, Selangor. Both countries maintain good relations.
