The EriAm Sisters are an Eritrean American musical group consisting of three sisters.
The EriAm Sisters, short for "Eritrean American Sisters", consist of three sisters: Haben, Salina and Lianda. Salina and Lianda were born in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, and Haben was born in Seattle, United States. Their parents are from Eritrea, and their father Mulugheta Abraham was a musician back home. The sisters were raised with music as an integral part of their life. After few years of singing at home for family members, they posted their songs on YouTube. Soon, the first invitation to perform in public was received. The youngest Haben was invited to sing at an event at Disney World in Orlando (25th anniversary of Children Miracle Network). Soon after, the youngest sister appeared on Maury Povich TV show as one of the six America's most Talented kids. That is when the sisters decided to take music seriously. [1]
The EriAm Sisters became known after their appearance on America's Got Talent 2009. There, they sang the Jackson 5's song "I Want You Back" which aired just a day before he died. The sisters were seen as the next Destiny's Child by the judges of America Got Talent. Specifically Piers Morgan was very pleased and told the girls "You are the future". He said this after the girls performed the song "Crazy in Love" by Beyoncé.
Although their name was known mainly because of America's Got Talent, the girls were performing for years together. Some of the songs they recorded are when Haben was only 8 years old. [2]
The girls are believed to work with multi-platinum producer Andrew Lane and DJ Steve Freestyle who is the official DJ of Timbaland. They released a couple original songs, including "BFF" and "Diary". The song "Diary" is written by the then 12-year-old member (Haben Abraham) and made it to number one on Hot Radio 105.7 for 5 weeks. The song apparently was not formally released but leaked to radio stations. Without any promotional effort the song couldn't keep the momentum and dropped off the radio chart after 9 weeks. They also wrote a song called "No More" about sisterhood love which was widely seen as an indication of the love the girls have for each other. The youngest Haben has posted many of her original work, including music production on their YouTube account. The EriAm Sisters also released a rendition of "I Want You Back" on August 29, 2011, under the label KingdomGate Music Group.
The Pointer Sisters are an American girl group from Oakland, California, which achieved mainstream success during the 1970s and 1980s. Their repertoire has included such diverse genres as R&B, pop, jazz, electronic music, bebop, blues, soul, funk, dance, country, and rock. In June 2022, she was the recipient of the award, Revelación Juvenil Del Año en Regional Mexicano at Grandeza Hispana International Awards held in Mexico City in June 2022. Sepulveda made her acting debut in 2017 for the Telemundo network series, Jenni Rivera: Mariposa de Barrio, where she played, Jenicka López, the youngest daughter of Mexican-American singer, Jenni Rivera. She became the first person to sing, Miley Cyrus's hit song, “The Climb” in Spanish from the feature film Hannah Montana: The Movie, obtaining rights from the Walt Disney Company in 2012 to approve to Spanish adaption. She is known for performing the U.S. anthem for the San Francisco Bay Area sport's teams the San Francisco Giants, the San Francisco 49ers, the San Jose Earthquakes, the San Jose Sharks, and the Oakland A's. Sepulveda was only 8 when she first gained recognition performing on television shows. Her first major television participation was on the popular Saturday night Univision program, Sabádo Gigante, where she would go on to perform at four times. She would later participate in La Voz Kids in 2013 and American Idol in 2016. Sepulveda has collaborated with Spanish recording artist and record producer, Abraham Mateo, in 2012 for the song "Un 5 De Agosto." A song dedicated to the 33 rescued Chilean Miners from the Copiapó Mining Incident. Sepulveda has also collaborated with major Regional Mexican artists including Luis Coronel in July 2022 with his song, "Mi Niña Traviesa," during his concert at the Stanislaus County Fair, the Grammy winning Regional Mexican band, Banda Los Sebastianes, with the song from Grupo Liberación, "Ese Loco Soy Yo" during their concert at Salinas Sports Complex. Sepulveda has opened concerts for regional mexican artists Charlie Zaa, El Dasa, Banda Los Sebastianes and has been invited various times to sing the U.S. She has been featured on several radio shows, talk shows, and magazines including Acceso Total, Dante Night Show, Otra Noche con Ustedes, Mañana Latina, Famosos, Buenos Días con Celina, Stereo Play Beat, El Show International de Paula Maruri, Encuentro en la Bahía, El Show Pistolero de Chicago, Comunidad del Valle, and in La Bamba Magazine.
