The National Library Board (NLB) is a statutory board under the Ministry of Communications and Information of the Government of Singapore. Tasked to manage the public libraries and to lead them into the Information Age where non-print resources are making their mark, the NLB is aimed towards the creation of "borderless libraries", an initiative aimed at bringing the libraries closer to Singaporeans, and to connect Singaporeans with the outside world. NLB is a building block of Singapore's way towards knowledge society and smart nation.

Fairfield Methodist School (Primary) and Fairfield Methodist School (Secondary) are two schools located on Dover Road. Dover Court International School is an international school in Singapore. Founded in 1972, the school delivers the English National Curriculum and International Baccalaureate Diploma Program to 1850 students between the ages of 3 and 18. Over 60 nationalities are represented in the school, with the majority of teachers coming from the United Kingdom. In 2015, Dover Court International School registered with the Committee for Private Education of Singapore and since April 2014 has been part of the Nord Anglia Education group of schools. It is a member of the Federation of British International Schools in Asia (FOBISIA), and accredited by the Council of International Schools (CIS) and the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC).
Khatijun Nissa Siraj is a Singporean women's rights activist and the co-founder of the Young Women's Muslim Association (PPIS) and the Muslim Women's Welfare Council. In response to an epidemic within the Singaporean Muslim community of women being abandoned by their husbands through inexpensive, informal divorces, Siraj and the PPIS successfully pressed for the formation of a Syariah Court. Siraj was the first case worker for the court, which had authority over marriages and divorces. In addition to her work with the PPIS, Siraj worked with a number of other organizations that worked to improve women's welfare.
Emma Yong Oi-Mun was a Malaysia-born, Singaporean actress and singer. She was an actress for MediaCorp from the late 1990s until her death. She appeared in the movie called The Blue Mansion (2009) and she was in the music group called Dim Sum Dollies. She died of stomach cancer.
Heng Siok Tian is a Singaporean poet and educator. She has published five volumes of poetry: Crossing the Chopsticks and Other Poems (1993), My City, My Canvas (1999), Contouring (2004), Is My Body a Myth (2011) and Mixing Tongues (2011).
