Eugene Donnelly has been rallying for 30 years. His first rally was the Cavan Stages Rally in 1984. His 1st win came in 2002 in Galway.
He drove a G3 Escort in the national events during his early days. Eugene drove a Toyota Corolla WRC for three years [2004-2006]. He won three championships with the Corolla [KAM 651]. He tested the Subaru Impreza S11 of Derek Mc Garritys with Prodrive in the 2006 Donegal Harvest Stages Rally which he won with James Sharkey as co-driver. Eugene switched to a Subaru Impreza S12 WRC [CT06 SRT] for the 2007 season. Towards the end of the 2007 season Eugene purchased a Škoda Fabia WRC [46-XF-JH]. In 2012 he drove a Mini John Cooper Works WRC run by McGeehan motorsport The first Mini WRC car to run in Irish rallying.
Eugene Donnelly started the 2007 season in a brand new Subaru Impreza S12 WRC [CT06 SRT]. The First Round was the Galway International Rally, Double World Rally Champion Marcus Grönholm was seeded Number One. Marcus was to use the Galway International as a 'Shakedown' for Rally Ireland 2007. It was Eugene who led Marcus Grönholm after Day One by 5.4 seconds. After 16 nail biting stages Eugene's Impreza WRC understeered into a ditch. Round Two was the Easter International Rally [Circuit Of Ireland] and Eugene finished in 2nd place behind his main rival Mark Higgins. Killarney Rally of the Lakes was the third round and it was a big chapter for Irish Rallying, This would be the first event that Eugene would be driving for Reid Motorsport. The Rally Of The Lakes was won by Kris Meeke. Eugene finished second and rival Mark Higgins finished in fourth place. Mark was leading the ITC Championship by 14 points Jim Clark Memorial Rally was Round Four. Eugene won the event comfortably and scored 15 points while his Mark Higgins [driving a Group-N Impreza because it was a Round of the BRC] scored 8 points Round Five, the Donegal International Rally marked an exciting event for Eugene as this was the first time that five time world rally champion Sébastien Loeb came over and used Donegal as a 'Shakedown' for Rally Ireland. Sebastien won the event but Mark Higgins scored maximum points because Sebastian was not registered for ITC points. After a great battle with Kevin Lynch, Eugene finished 2nd. The Manx International Rally played host to the Sixth Round of the ITC Championship. Another great battle occurred between young Norwegian Andreas Mikklesen and Irish Tarmac Champion Eugene Donnelly on the opening day. It was Eugene who came out front and scored maximum points. Eugene's rival Mark Higgins was driving a Group-N Impreza seeing as it was a round of the British Rally Championship scored 0 points as Mark crashed out on the opening loop. Eugene was now leading the Irish Tarmac Championship by just 5 points over Rival Mark Higgins. Round Seven was held in Ulster. Local Star Kris Meeke won the event. Eugene scored 12 points while Mark Higgins scored 8. The Cork 20 Rally was the Final Round of the 2007 season. WRC Stars Sébastien Loeb, Dani Sordo and Mikko Hirvonen came to Cork to use it for a 'shakedown' for Rally Ireland but the main focus was on Eugene Donnelly and Mark Higgins. Both drivers had everything to drive for but it was Mark who finished one place ahead of Eugene but that awarded Eugene the 2007 Irish Tarmac Rally Championship for the fourth consecutive year/
Due to the collapse of Reid Motorsport, Eugene found it difficult to secure the budget to defend his 2007 ITC title, however he participated in 3 out of 8 rounds of the Irish Tarmac Championship. Using used Jack Sleator's S12 WRC [HT55 SRT] for the 1st round in Galway and retired due to Mechanical Problems. The next Round for Eugene was Donegal, Eugene used his Škoda Fabia for that Round and finished first ahead of Kevin Lynch and Eamonn Boland. The Cork 20 International was the next Round for Eugene but was a disappointing Round as Eugene retired on Stage 2 again due to Mechanical Problems The 2008 Irish Tarmac Championship was awarded to Eamonn Boland
Eugene secured the budget for drive his Škoda Fabia for the 2009 Irish Tarmac Championship. The First Round kicked off with the Galway International. WRC star Conrad Rautenbach and JWRC star Aaron Burkart used Galway as a 'shakedown' for the Rally Ireland 2009. Galway proved a tough event as 2008 Irish Tarmac Champion Eamonn Boland, Dungiven's Kevin Lynch, Two Time ITC Champion Derek McGarrity were all forced to retire. Eugene won the event and scored 15 points. Round Two was the Circuit of Ireland. Eugene took an early lead but first place switched over numerous times between Eugene and local man Peadar Hurson, however it was Eugene who came out on top and scored another 15 points. This rally marked Eugene's 16th ITC win. The Rally of the Lakes in Kerry played home to Round Three of the 2009 ITC. After Day One it was Young Dubliner Gareth MacHale who led the event by 2.2 seconds over Eugene. However, Stage 11 claimed both Gareth [Off-Road] and Eugene [Off-Road] giving the lead to Eamonn Boland. One Stage later Eamonn punctured his Impreza S12C giving the lead to Meath Man Tim McNulty. McNulty held onto his lead and won the 2009 Rally Of The Lakes. Round Four was held in Scotland.
In early January 2018, Donnelly announced a new career path that would see him develop the new Hyundai i20 from the passenger seat.

Chris Atkinson is a professional rally driver. In the World Rally Championship (WRC), Atkinson drove for the Subaru World Rally Team between 2004 and 2008. His best finish on an individual WRC event is second, which he achieved at the 2008 Rally México and Rally Argentina. Other podium placings include third-place finishes at the 2005 Rally Japan and the 2008 Monte Carlo Rally.
Andrew Nesbitt is a rally driver and businessman from Newtownhamilton, County Armagh, Northern Ireland. He is currently co-driven by James O'Brien from Co. Cork. He is best known for driving the Subaru Impreza but first made his name driving a Toyota Celica on the 1996 Donegal International Rally. He defied the odds to beat top drivers such as Bertie Fisher and Austin MacHale. Since then he has had a host of rally wins. In 2000 he broke all records by winning the Donegal International and winning all 22 stages. He went on to become Tarmac Champion in 2000 and 2002. Andrew has taken a number of wins since 2002, but has failed to reclaim the tarmac title. He was often leading rallies or was in a strong position, until mechanical failures let him down. More recently he has performed very well, but has been unable to compete in a full season. Andrew's car is currently sponsored by Rutledge Joblink and Cross-Refrigeration. His car is prepared by McKinstry Motorsport. In 2004 Andrew realised his dream by entering the WRC for the first time. He entered the snow event in Sweden and finished a very respectable 28th, in what is a very specialist event. He was 5th amongst the privateer crews. One of the most remarkable achievements of Andrew's career was winning the Jim Clark Memorial Rally for three consecutive years, breaking the record in the process. On 11 and 12 August 2007 at Maasmechelen in Belgium Nesbitt contested his first ever round of the FIA European Championships for Rallycross Drivers with a 550+bhp strong spare Saab 9-3 T16 4x4 of Swede Per Eklund. Nesbitt recently acquired a Solar energy company, Cool Power, which he later incorporated into Cross Energy, under the Cross-Group, along with its fruit ripening, hire and refrigeration departments. With Cross Energy, Nesbitt introduced Northern Ireland's first solar powered car charger.
The 1997 World Rally Championship was the 25th season of the FIA World Rally Championship. The season saw many changes in the championship. Most notably, Group A was partially replaced by the World Rally Car with manufacturers given the option which regulations to construct to. One inherent benefit to manufacturers by adopting WRC regulations was removing the need to mass-produce road-going versions of the cars that they competed with, under the previous rules for homologation. This meant that vehicles such as the Escort RS Cosworth and Subaru Impreza Turbo no longer had to be mass-produced for general sale in order to compete at World Championship level, and thus acting as a means of attracting increased competition and involvement by manufacturers. In the few years that follow, the Championship saw the added presence of WRC cars from companies such as Hyundai, Seat, Citroën, and Peugeot, who would all compete under WRC regulations without having to manufacture equivalent specialised road cars for public sale. Both Ford and Subaru switched to WRC in 1997, except Mitsubishi who stayed with Group A to maintain the links to their Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution road cars. Subaru's transition was much more gradual for similar reasons with the early Subaru Impreza WRCs still largely Group A in nature.

It used a distinctive blue with yellow colour scheme that is a throwback to the sponsorship deal with State Express 555, a BAT cigarette brand popular in Asia. 555 logos were found on Subaru cars from 1993 to 2003, although less prevalent since 1999 due to BAT's participation in Formula One with British American Racing. Subaru's WRC efforts date back to 1980, however, in 1989 British firm Prodrive took over its operations, and its base moved from Japan to Banbury, England.
Andreas Mikkelsen is a Norwegian rally driver. He is currently competing in the World Rally Championship-2 for Toksport World Rally Team. He previously drove for the factory teams of Volkswagen, Citroën and Hyundai in the World Rally Championship, finishing third in the drivers' standings in 2014, 2015 and 2016. His current co-driver is Torstein Eriksen.
The Donegal International Rally is an annual car race in County Donegal, Ireland. It is a well-established Irish annual rally competition and has been one of the most important events in the Irish Rallying calendar. It has a reputation for being one of the country's most challenging rallies. Organized by the Donegal Motor Club, the annual event begins and concludes in Letterkenny.
Keith Cronin is an Irish rally driver and four-time winner of the British Rally Championship. He won the 2009 British Rally Championship in his first year in the series, defeating multiple champion Mark Higgins in his privately entered TTec Rally Prep Cronin Motorsport Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IX. Cronin successfully defended his title in 2010 driving a Subaru Impreza. After missing the 2011 season, he returned to the Championship in 2012. He won three out of six events in his Citroen DS3 R3, meaning he won the overall title for the third time in his career. 2017 saw him crowned British Rally Champion for the fourth time.

Tim McNulty of County Meath, Republic of Ireland is a rally driver. Rallying in his Subaru Impreza S12B WRC, McNulty in the same 2011 season won both the Irish Tarmac Rally Championship and Ireland’s Dunlop National Rally in a historic motorsports first. In anticipation of the Todd’s Leap Ulster Rally earlier in the season, fellow rally driver Derrick McGarrity stated of McNulty “Tim is always a hard man to beat, very competitive and very committed, and he should have a slight advantage with his S12 Subaru which has the edge in power over the S11 I’m driving this time,”
The 2014 Asia-Pacific Rally Championship season was an international rally championship sanctioned by the FIA. The championship was contested by a combination of regulations with Group N competing directly against Super 2000 cars for points.
The West Cork Rally, Clonakilty Park Hotel West Cork Rally is an annual motorsport tarmac rallying event held in Clonakilty, County Cork, Ireland. Promoted and organised by Cork Motor Club, the rally began in 1977 and has run on or near St. Patricks Weekend ever since with just a few exceptions. It is, according to a book about the rally's early history, an "important local cultural and economic event".
