Family: the web series is an episodic 2008 web series created by actress and filmmaker Terisa Greenan, based loosely on her own life of polyamory with her two male partners. Greenan wrote and directed the show, and acted in a small supporting role. Some episodes were co-written by Matt Bullen.
The series explores the fictional lives of Gemma (Amber Rack), Ben (Ernie Joseph) and Stuart (Eric Smiley), who live in Seattle as a polyamorous "V" triad. Greenan began the web series while she was between acting jobs in the autumn of 2008.
By early 2009, the show had received national attention, including an invitation from the Kinsey Institute for Research in Sex, Gender and Reproduction to include a DVD of the web series in the "polyamory" section of their library. [1]

A total of 21 episodes were produced, originally released between Nov. 15, 2008, and Oct. 31, 2009. As with webisodes in general, run length is much briefer than broadcast programming. (The first episode, "Not What the Neighbors Think," runs 6:19.) The DVD release of Season One has a total runtime of 120 minutes.

It is available as either for download or in streaming, as opposed to first airing on broadcast or cable television. The format can be used as a preview, a promotion, as part of a collection of shorts, or a commercial. A webisode may or may not have been broadcast on TV. What defines it is its online distribution on the web, or through video-sharing web sites such as Vimeo or YouTube. Neighbours is a long-running Australian television soap opera created by television executive Reg Watson. It was first broadcast on the Seven Network on 18 March 1985 and currently airs on digital channel Eleven. Since its inception, several spin-offs have been produced, including books, music, DVDs and internet webisodes. Several annuals and books by pulp fiction writer Carl Ruhen were released in the late 1980s and early 1990s. Barry Crocker's version of the theme tune was the first music release from the show, which also has included a Christmas album and the show's love theme. Two potential television spin-offs have reached the pilot stage, while five DVD box sets of Neighbours episodes from the beginning have been released. In 2013, Neighbours launched their first webisode series Steph in Prison. Several other webisode series' has since been released, with the most recent series SheilaTV becoming available from December 2018. Season one includes eight episodes, with season two currently under development. Chop Socky Boom follows the adventures of misfit indie film actors cast in the fictional kung fu film, “Final Zodiac Warrior.” CSB focuses on main character Khanh and her friends, Scottie, Paige, Daisy and Max, as they audition for a poorly run chop socky series created by Trick, an Ed Wood like Director with his own unique vision.
