Fantasy Island was a waterpark once located at Sentosa, Singapore from 1994 to 2001, on the part of the present site of Universal Studios Singapore of the Resorts World Sentosa. [1]

Background

Opened on 8 December 1994 at a cost of S$54 million, [2] the waterpark had an 8-lane giant slide and a number of other high-speed water slides and other features.

Decline and Closure

However, its popularity waned over time due to its high entrance fees and its inaccessibility. It was also known for its high injury rate that often resulted in several people getting injured, including the two drowning fatalities in 1998 and 2000 [3] respectively. All these accidents led to the eventual closure of Fantasy Island in Sentosa on 2 November 2001. [4] [5]

Wild Waves Theme & Water Park is an amusement park and water park in Federal Way, Washington. Opened in 1977 as The Enchanted Village, the park is a popular summer destination in the Pacific Northwest and is one of two waterparks in Washington state. Splish Splash is a 96-acre (390,000 m2) water park in Calverton, New York. It features 30 rides and runs from May through September. Travel Channel ranked Splish Splash the third best water park in the United States in the year 2009, but does not hold the title anymore.

Big Splash is a waterpark in Canberra, Australia. It is located in the suburb of Macquarie and is the only waterpark in Canberra. It originally opened with a 50-metre (160 ft) Pool with a kids pool at the end of it in the late 1960s.

Resorts World Sentosa is an integrated resort on the island of Sentosa, off the southern coast of Singapore. The key attractions include one of Singapore's two casinos, a Universal Studios theme park, Adventure Cove Water Park, and S.E.A. Aquarium, which includes the world's second largest oceanarium.

Wilderness Hotel & Golf Resort is a large water resort in Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin. Wet n Wild Orlando

Wet 'n Wild Orlando was the flagship water park of Wet 'n Wild owned by NBC Universal, located on International Drive in Orlando, Florida. It was founded in 1977 by SeaWorld creator George Millay. It closed on December 31, 2016.

Marine Life Park

The Marine Life Park is a part of Resorts World Sentosa, Sentosa, situated in southern Singapore. The 8-hectare (20-acre) park houses two attractions, the S.E.A. Aquarium and the Adventure Cove Waterpark, and featured the largest oceanarium in the world from 2012 to 2014, until it was surpassed by Chimelong Ocean Kingdom.

Tornado (ProSlide ride)

The Tornado is a water slide manufactured by ProSlide Technology. It requires riders to sit in a 2-6 seater round tube. Riders drop from inside a tunnel out into the ride's main element shaped like a funnel on its side. Riders oscillate from one side to the other until they exit through the back of the funnel and into a splash pool. Many of the slides feature a conveyor belt to bring the rafts to the top. On April 13, 2012 it was announced the first 6-man Tornado would be built using Hydromagnetic technology.

Wet'n'Wild Las Vegas is a water park in Spring Valley, Nevada. The park is part of Village Roadshow Theme Parks' Wet'n'Wild chain of water parks located across the world. The park opened in May 2013 and is located at 7055 S. Fort Apache Road, southwest of the I-215 and Sunset Road intersection. The water park reopened June 22, 2020 with enhanced COVID-19 safety protocols.

DreamWorks Water Park is an indoor water park within the American Dream shopping and entertainment complex, at the Meadowlands Sports Complex in East Rutherford, New Jersey, United States. The park opened on October 1, 2020. The water park includes 40 water slides and 15 attractions, and covers 8.5 acres (3.4 ha).
