Farah Mahbub (born April 10, 1965) aka Farah Jee is a Pakistani fine art photographer and a photography professor teaching at Indus Valley School of Art and Architecture, Karachi, Pakistan. [1] Mahbub was awarded second prize in the fine art category at Px3 (Prix de la Photographie, Paris). [2]

Biography

Mahbub graduated from PECHS College Karachi with Bachelor of Arts degree in 1987. She has been working as a professional photographer since 1988, doing fine art photography for personal self-expression and freelancing for publications. She has taught photography at Indus Valley School of Art and Architecture since 1997.

James Whitlow Delano is an American reportage photographer based in Tokyo, Japan. He has published several books of photography and is known for black and white long term projects based on human rights, the environment and culture. Delano's work, mainly from Asia and Latin America, has received many honors internationally including the Alfred Eisenstadt Award, from Picture of the Year International, National Press Photographers Association (N.P.P.A.), Leica’s Oskar Barnack award, PX3, Photo District News, American Photography, Communication Arts and others. Ayessha Quraishi is a contemporary visual artist who lives and works in Karachi, Pakistan. Having received her initial art training from Karachi-based educator Nayyar Jamil, she has been working for over three decades on the development of her signature technique and visual language. Her practice often integrates various media including drawing, painting, sculpture, performance and digital photography. Quraishi is a prominent artist whose work has been widely shown, both locally and internationally. She participated in the international Istanbul Biennial in 2019. More recently in 2020, Koel Gallery presented Quraishi's major mid-career retrospective Between Light in Karachi, featuring works spanning thirty-five years (1985-2020) of her prolific and ongoing career. Wendi Schneider is an American artist and photographer based in Denver, Colorado, known for her photographs of nature and wildlife that are often printed on paper vellum or kozo with hand-applied layers of gold leaf on verso. Gilded vellum and kozo photographs from her ongoing "States of Grace" series have been exhibited in more than 100 gallery and museum exhibitions nationally and abroad. Pakistani art has a long tradition and history. It consists of a variety of art forms, including painting, sculpture, calligraphy, pottery, and textile arts such as woven silk. It shares features with Indian subcontinental art.
