The song was released as the lead single from Garrett's upcoming second studio album on February 4,2011. [2] The song was originally included on his debut mixtape The Inkwell (2010),however that version featured Canadian rapper Drake instead of Cole. [3]

He is responsible for a series of chart-topping compositions,most notably Usher's 2004 single "Yeah!" which ranks second on the Billboard Hot 100 Songs of the Decade for 2000–2009,and other songs written by him which include Ciara's breakout track "Goodies",Teairra Marí's debut single "Make Her Feel Good",Mario's single "Break Up",Nicki Minaj's first single "Massive Attack",and The Pussycat Dolls' single "Buttons".

He debuted in the UK's Asian Underground scene as a member of the Rishi Rich Project with "Dance with You",which reached No. 12 on the UK Singles Chart in 2003. After disappointing sales,she was let go from her recording contract in the middle of production for her second album Second Round. In 2008,she returned to the music scene with the Pleasure P-assisted single "Hunt 4 U".
