Fleur De Lys RFC is a Welsh rugby union club based in south-east Wales and are a feeder club for Newport Gwent Dragons. [1] The 1st XV Team currently play in Division 3 East

History

Fleur De Lys RFC reformed into their current guise in 1966. In 1992 they obtained full membership of the Welsh Rugby Union. [2]

The club since 1992 has had some notable success, with the senior team gaining successive promotions in 2002, 2003 and 2004. They attainted their highest league position in the 2006/07 season finishing 5th in Division One East. They beat some high-profile teams along the way including Pontypool. They were relegated the following season after finishing 11th, and again in the following season from Division 2 East.

'Flower' as they are known in rugby circles, bounced back to winning ways in the 2009/10 season and were promoted to Division Two East finishing as Champions of Division 3 East.

After three seasons in Division 2 East, the club were moved into the newly restructured Division One East for the forthcoming 2014/15 season.

Club Captain since 2022/2023 season is Macauley Dimmick.

The club has previously run youth & 2nd XV teams to varying success.

Counties 1 Herts/Middlesex is a tier 7 English Rugby Union league. It is organised by the London and South East Division Rugby Football Union and is the top tier competition for clubs in Hertfordshire and parts of north-west London that traditionally was encompassed by the historic county of Middlesex. It was previously known as London 2 North West. After the restructuring of the English rugby union system ahead of the 2022-23 season, the league was renamed to Counties 1 Herts/Middlesex.

The Welsh Rugby Union Specsavers Division One East is a rugby union league in Wales. It was 'born' out of a restructure of the former league system that had formally begun in Wales for the 1990/91 season. As a result of the restructure of 2006, the WRU decided to divide the then Division One into two leagues, East and West, and Division 1 East was implemented and became a regular part of the fixture list. In 2014, another restructure of Welsh Rugby's league system saw more changes within the Division One tier. This introduced an additional 2 leagues at this level bringing the total number of Division 1 leagues up to 4. Each league comprises 12 teams and combined the 48 clubs from the old Divisions One and Two with Clubs being placed into the corresponding league table based on their geographic location. Matt McLean is a Welsh rugby union player currently playing for Worthing Raiders in National League 2 South. Known for both his try scoring and kicking prowess, as of the end of the 2018-19 season, Matt is the most prolific points scorer in National League 2 South with over 3,000 points scored for Worthing, including three seasons as the division's top points scorer, as well as being the division's 2nd highest try scorer of all-time with 115 tries. A former Wales youth international, he has also represented his country in rugby sevens.
