Francesco "Franco" Arese (born 13 April 1944 in Centallo) is an Italian middle-distance runner, competing mainly at 1500 m. Arese won the 1500 meters final at the 1971 European Athletics Championships in Helsinki, Finland. [1]

Biography

Arese has won several Italian championships on 800, 1500 and 5000 meters. [3] He competed in both the 1968 Summer Olympics in Mexico City and the 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich, but on both occasions failed to qualify for the final.
