Grupo Desportivo Interclube is an Angolan basketball club based in Luanda, in the Ponta Rocha neighbourhood. It is part of the mutisports club with the same name. The club's basketball teams (men and women) compete at the local level, at the Luanda Provincial Basketball Championships and at the Men's and Women's leagues as well as at continental level, at the annual African Basketball Club Champions League.

The Angolan Basketball Federation is the governing body of official basketball competitions in Angola. FAB was founded in 1976, with Mr. José Jaime de Castro Guimarães serving as chairman. The federation was first housed at Rua Rainha Ginga and later moved to the current address on the ground floor of an apartment building located in the Cidadela Sports Compound. FAB oversees the activities of the 18 provincial basketball associations in the country. Typically the federation has a 42-member staff, including 3 members of the general assembly, 3 from the audit committee, 5 from the legal board, 5 from the disciplinary board and 16 collaborators while the management is made up of 10 members.

The Taça de Angola is an annual basketball competition in which all Angolan basketball clubs are eligible to contest. The tournament, played in a knock-out system, is Angola's second most important basketball competition following the national league.

The Supertaça de Angola, better known as the Supertaça Vladimiro Romeiro, is a single-match competition in Angolan basketball, played between the Angolan league champion and the Angola Cup winner of the previous season. In case the same team happens to win both the league and the cup, the match will be played between the league winner and the cup runner-up.

The 2012–13 Angola men's basketball cup was contested by 13 teams and ran from February 3 to April 19, 2013, whereas the four-team women's tournament ran from January 22 to February 2.
