The administrative centre of the municipality is the village of Lødingen. The other main village is Vestbygda. Lødingen has the nickname "Biketown" because it hosts several annual bicycle races like Lofoten Insomnia and Vestbygd-rittet.

It is an annex chapel in the Bjerkvik parish which is part of the Ofoten prosti (deanery) in the Diocese of Sør-Hålogaland. The white, wooden chapel was built in a long church style in 1952 by the architect Bjarne Romsloe. The chapel is located in a rural area that is populated with vacation cabins that are popular with the residents of the town of Narvik.

It is an annex chapel in the Narvik parish which is part of the Ofoten prosti (deanery) in the Diocese of Sør-Hålogaland. The brick chapel was built in a long church style in 1957 by the architect Jan Inge Hovig. The chapel seats about 250 people.

Storsteinsfjellet is a mountain ridge in Narvik Municipality in Nordland county, Norway. The mountain ridge is about 13 kilometres (8.1 mi) long and it has six peaks over 1,700 metres (5,600 ft) in elevation. The highest peak is Kirken at 1,894 metres (6,214 ft) above sea level. Storsteinsfjellet lies about 30 kilometres (19 mi) southeast of the town of Narvik. The lake Sealggajávri lies immediately north of the mountain and the lake Lossivatnet lies just west of the mountain.

The administrative centre of Ofoten was the village of Narvik. After the municipality was dissolved in 1884, the name Ofoten has been used to refer to the region that once was this municipality.
