The Siemens Competition was a science competition for US high school students funded by the Siemens Foundation, which was administered by the College Board from 1999-2013 and by Discovery Education from 2014–2017. Marion Luther Brittain Sr. was an American academic administrator and president of the Georgia Institute of Technology from 1922 to 1944. Brittain was born in Georgia and, aside from a brief stint at the University of Chicago for graduate school, spent most of his life serving the educational community there. After receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree from Emory College in 1886, Brittain worked his way up the ranks from principal of an Atlanta high school to superintendent of education for the entire state of Georgia.
Mark Joseph Guzdial is a Professor in the College of Engineering at the University of Michigan. He was formerly a professor in the School of Interactive Computing at the Georgia Institute of Technology affiliated with the College of Computing and the GVU Center. Wreck Racing is a Georgia Tech automotive competition team, based in the Woodruff School of Mechanical Engineering. Roger Lee Steele Reared in Wichita Falls, Texas was an American-born graphic artist/printmaker living in South Carolina best known for his evocative and colorful lithography, an artistic process also known as relief printing. He was a printmaker specializing in the color-blend or split fountain technique often incorporating traditional chine-collé gold leaf techniques in his work. His abstract color graphics are frequently suggestive of an artistic link between mid-late Japanese motifs and the modern world.
Maggie Marie Bridges is an American beauty pageant titleholder from Brinson, Georgia, who was crowned Miss Georgia 2014. She is the second Georgia Tech student to win the Miss Georgia title. The first Georgia Tech student to win the Miss Georgia title was Tammy Fulwider in 1983 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Megan_Blake. Bridges competed for the Miss America 2015 title in September 2014 but was not a Top 15 finalist.
