Ghana Judo Association is the largest association for Judo in Ghana and a member as well as the official representative for this sport in the Ghana Olympic Committee. [1] [2]

International competition

Ghana Judo Association is a member of the African umbrella organization African Judo Union (AJU) as well as the World Association for International Judo Federation (IJF).

On the part of the Ghana Olympic Committee, the Ghana Judo Association is the only Judo Association authorized to send athletes to the Olympic Games.

Emmanuel Nartey was the first Ghanaian to compete in Judo in the Olympics. [3] [4] Szandra Szögedi was the first female to represent Ghana. [5] [6]

Emmanuel K Nartey, is a Ghanaian judoka. He competed in the men's 73 kg event at the 2012 Summer Olympics and was eliminated by Dex Elmont in the second round. He was the first judoka to represent Ghana at the Olympic Games. He also competed at the 2014 Commonwealth Games, where he was ejected following a dispute with officials. He won bronze at the 2015 African Games in the men's 73 kg.

Samuel Nartey George is a Ghanaian politician. He is from Ahwiam, Old Ningo. He is a member of the National Democratic Congress. In November 2015, he defeated the incumbent E. T. Mensah to represent the party in the 2016 parliamentary elections for Ningo-Prampram Constituency. He is currently a member of the Seventh Parliament of the Fourth Republic of Ghana representing Ningo-Prampram constituency.

Szandra Szögedi is a Hungarian-born naturalized Ghanaian judoka who currently competes in the -63 kg event. Born and raised in Hungary, she is married to Ghanaian judoka Alex Amoako and competes for Ghana in international competitions. She competed in the Women's -63 kg at the 2014 Commonwealth Games.

Felix Nartey is a Ghanaian social entrepreneur and open advocate. He was named the Wikimedian of the Year in August 2017 by Wikipedia co-founder Jimmy Wales at Wikimania. He is a Co-founder of Open Foundation West Africa and Creative Commons Ghana, where he is also the chapter lead.

Ghana Karate Do Association it is the largest association for karate in Ghana and a member as well as the official representative for this sport in the Ghana Olympic Committee. It was founded in 1997.

Ghana did not attend Montreal 1976 because of the African boycott, as well as the Moscow 1980, when the nation joined the United States-led boycott.

Ghana competed at the 2019 African Games held from 19 to 31 August 2019 in Rabat, Morocco. Ghana competed in 14 sports. Ghana's participation was made possible by financial support from the Ghanaian government. In total, athletes representing Ghana won two gold medals, two silver medals and nine bronze medals and the country finished in 15th place in the medal table.

Joseph Paul Amoah is a Ghanaian sprinter specializing in the 100 metres and the 200 metres. He competed at the 2019 World Athletics Championships in the 100 metres and 4 × 100 metres relay, and at the 2019 African Games, he won a gold medal in the 4 × 100 metres relay. He was also a 100 metres finalist at the 2019 African Games, finishing fourth.

She competed at world championships, most recently at the 2018 Africa Youth Championship, 2019 Africa Weightlifting Championship in Egypt and the 2019 Africa Games in Morocco.

Richard Dornu Nartey is a Ghanaian politician and member of parliament for the first and second parliament of the fourth republic of Ghana. He represented Shama in the Western region of Ghana.
