Goseong County (Goseong-gun) is a county in South Gyeongsang Province, South Korea
Goseong-gun is divided into 1 eup and 13 myeon.
Goseong-gun is located at the southern end of central Gyeongnam. It was the capital of Sogaya, an ancient kingdom of advanced culture. [1] It is endowed with natural tourism resources of beautiful mountains, ocean, and fields.
It is adjacent to Geoje, Sacheon, Tongyeong, Masan, and Jinju. It is also linked to the Daejeon-Tongyeong Expressway, National Roads No. 14 and No. 33. [2]
Its location is quite southern, which makes the climate mild and warm all year around. That is, Goseong is classified as an oceanic climate. The southeast wind blows during the summer and the northwest wind, which is the seasonal wind, blows during the winter.

Goseong was the center of the Gaya kingdom during ancient years. Goseong county held an annual "Sogaya festival" reemerging marching of ancient people with legends.
Additionally, events also deal with General Yi Sun-sin who beat Japanese invaders at Danghangpo which is near port of Goseong. [4]
Between 1 April and 12 June 2016, the county will host the Gyeongnam Goseong Dinosaur World Expo (see 'Fossil sites' below for more info).
Goseong was designated as a cluster for shipbuilding, including development with its neighbor, Geoje area.
In July 2007, the Ministry of Finance and Economy confirmed the establishment of the complex after securing the land. The construction began in April 2008. [5]
Goseong is known for, among other things, its fossilized dinosaur footprints. The county will host the Gyeongnam Goseong Dinosaur World Expo in 2016 for 73 days, between 1 April and 12 June, at Danghangpo Tourist Site and Sangjogam County Park. Goseong county participated in the International dinosaur festival of Zigong, Sichuan Province of China which is a sister city.
The whole area was on the way of propelling registration of UNESCO natural heritages with other southern coast-lying regions. Fossil sites on the southern coast of Korea are the largest scale in Asia. [6]
Pohang, formerly spelled Po-Hang, is the largest city in North Gyeongsang Province, South Korea, with a population of 499,363 as of 2022, bordering the East Sea to the east, Yeongcheon to the west, Gyeongju to the south, and Cheongsong and Yeongdeok to the north.
Jeongseon (Jeongseon-gun) is a county in the province of Gangwon-do, South Korea. It is famous as the hometown of "Jeongseon Arirang," a traditional Korean folksong. It is also the hometown of actor Won Bin and footballer Seol Ki-hyeon.
Muju County (Muju-gun), is a county in North Jeolla Province (Jeollabuk-do), South Korea. Muju is known for its Muju Firefly Festival and is a tourist area.
Sangju is a city in North Gyeongsang Province, central South Korea. Although Sangju is rather rural, it is very old and was once a key city. Along with Gyeongju, it gives rise to half of the name of the Gyeongsang provinces. Sangju is nicknamed Sam Baek, or "Three Whites", referring to three prominent agricultural products rice, silkworm cocoons, and dried persimmons from the area.
Cheongdo County (Cheongdo-gun) is a county in North Gyeongsang Province, South Korea. It is connected to the national transportation grid by the Gyeongbu Line railroad and the Daegu-Busan Expressway. The seat of government is located in the center of the county, in Hwayang-eup.

Uiseong County (Uiseong-gun) is a county in Gyeongsangbuk-do Province, South Korea. Located near the center of the province, it is bounded by Andong on the north, Cheongsong on the east, Gunwi County on the south, and Sangju and Yecheon on the west. As in most parts of Korea, most of the land is vacant and forested; only about 19% of the county's area is farmland. The county is largely rural, with an economy dominated by agriculture; the only urbanized area is the county seat, Uiseong-eup.

Geoje is a city located in South Gyeongsang province, just off the coast of the port city of Busan, South Korea. Hanwha Ocean in Okpo and Samsung Heavy Industries (SHI) in Gohyeon are both located on Geoje Island. The city also offers a wide range of tourist sights. The city is made up of a number of islands, of which by far the largest is Geoje Island. There are multiple dong in the city: Jangpyeongdong, Okpo-dong and Gohyeon.
Tongyeong is a coastal city in South Gyeongsang Province, South Korea. In 2010, it had an area of 238.81 km2 (92.21 sq mi) and a population of 139,869 people. It is divided into 1 eup (town), 6 myeon (township) and 11 dong (neighborhood). Chungmu city and Tongyeong county were reunited in 1995, creating Tongyeong City as it is known today. It consists of Goseong Peninsula, Hansan Island, Mireuk Island, Yokji Island and other islets. It was formerly known as Chungmu, after the posthumous name of Admiral Yi Sun-sin. The name Tongyeong means "command post" and is itself associated with Admiral Yi, as it refers to his principal base that was located on nearby Hansan Island.

Although its role today is far less central, it remains an important local town, served by intercity buses as well as the Gyeongbuk Line railroad.

The name of the Order, Jogye, was adopted from the name of the village where Patriarch Huineng's home temple, Nanhua Temple, is located,.
Geojedo, or Geoje Island, is the principal island of Geoje, South Gyeongsang Province, South Korea. It is joined to land by two bridges from nearby Tongyeong. Gohyeon is the largest town on the island. The Busan–Geoje Bridge was opened in December 2010 and provides a more direct connection to the city of Busan.
The sites of fossilized dinosaurs across the southern South Korean coast is a tentative UNESCO World Heritage site registered by the South Korean government since 2002. Although the evidence is rare, fossils reveal that there were dinosaurs in South Korea. The ancient remains of dinosaurs are located within a beautiful display of nature that includes petrified wood, the tracks of extinct dinosaurs and other animals, the exposure of geographic rock layers, and particular river drifts. This dinosaur park is well protected by the local governments and by the Marine National Park and is an invaluable resource for understanding the ecosystem and nesting behaviors of dinosaurs of the Mesozoic era.
