The Green Garter Band (GGB) is a group of twelve that plays at numerous events for the University of Oregon. [1] The group has a faculty advisor, the Director of Athletic Bands, but for the most part is run by its student members. [2] The band performs for all UO Women's Volleyball home games, UO Women's Basketball home games, many UO Softball home games and serves as the core unit of the Oregon Marching Band (OMB) and Oregon Basketball Band (OBB).[ citation needed ]

Green Garter Band members are awarded a scholarship of $6,300. Members of GGB's companion group, the Yellow Garter Band, receive a scholarship of $1350 annually. [2]

In 2002, the Yellow Garter Band (YGB) was created to help fulfill the number of requests to join the band. [3]

Ride on Time is the fifth studio album by Japanese singer-songwriter Tatsuro Yamashita, released by AIR/RVC on September 19, 1980. It is best known for its title track, which was used in the television commercial for Maxell cassette tapes starring Yamashita, and released as a single in May 1980. Jorge Dalto was a pop, jazz and Afro-Cuban music pianist from Argentina, and the former musical director and keyboardist for George Benson, contributing the acoustic piano intro and solo to Benson's 1976 Grammy-winning hit version of Leon Russell's "This Masquerade". He also performed with Tito Puente, Grover Washington, Spyro Gyra, Fuse One, Gato Barbieri, Willie Colon and others. He died of cancer at the age of 39.

Wanderlust were an Australian contemporary jazz band founded by trumpeter Miroslav Bukovsky, which formed in 1991 with Adam Armstrong (bass), James Greening (trombone), Fabian Hevia, Carl Orr (guitar) and Alister Spence. Steve Wiest(néJohn Stephen Wiest; born 1957) is an American trombonist, composer, arranger, big band director, music educator at the collegiate level, jazz clinician, author, and illustrator/cartoonist. From 1981 to 1985, he was a featured trombonist and arranger with the Maynard Ferguson Band. Wiest is in his tenth year as Associate Professor of Jazz Studies and Commercial Music at the University of Denver Lamont School of Music. He is the Coordinator of the 21st Century Music Initiative at the school. Wiest has been a professor for thirty-five of the forty-three years that he has been a professional trombonist, composer, and arranger. From 2007 to 2014, Wiest was Associate Professor of Music in Jazz Studies at the University of North Texas College of Music and, from March 2009 to August 2014, he was director of the One O'Clock Lab Band and coordinator of the Lab Band program. At North Texas, Wiest also taught conducting, trombone, and oversaw The U-Tubes — the College of Music's jazz trombone band. Wiest is a three-time Grammy nominee — individually in 2008 for Best instrumental Arrangement and in 2010 for Best Instrumental Composition, and collaboratively in 2010 for Best Large Jazz Ensemble Album, which he directed. Young was a Canadian rock music group led by Roger Plomish.They released a few singles and an album during the 1970s. They had success with "Goin' to the Country" which was a hit in both Canada and the United States. Their album also spent about 14 weeks in the charts. The group may have been working on a second album prior to their break up.
