William Charles Powers Jr. was an American attorney,academic,and university administrator who served as the 28th president of the University of Texas at Austin,becoming the second-longest serving president in the university's history. He held the position from February 1,2006,to July 2,2015,when he was succeeded by Gregory L. Fenves. Before his death,Powers held the Hines H. Baker and Thelma Kelley Baker Chair at the University of Texas School of Law.

The Dell Medical School is the graduate medical school of The University of Texas at Austin in Austin,Texas. The school opened to the inaugural class of 50 students in the summer of 2016 as the newest of 18 colleges and schools on the UT Austin campus. S. Claiborne "Clay" Johnston was named as the medical school's inaugural dean in January 2014. On September 1,2021,Johnston stepped down from his position and George Macones was named interim dean. Claudia Lucchinetti,M.D. was announced as the new dean and began her term on December 1,2022.

Woodrow Wilson is a sculpture depicting the American president of the same name by Pompeo Coppini. The sculpture was commissioned in 1919 by George W. Littlefield to be included in the Littlefield Fountain on the campus of the University of Texas at Austin. It was installed on the university's South Mall in Austin,Texas from 1933 until its removal in 2015.
In April 1965,the Texas Legislature transferred Arlington State College (ASC) from the Texas A&M University System to the University of Texas System. The following year,Maxwell Scarlett was the first African-American graduate in ASC history. In March 1967,ASC was renamed the University of Texas at Arlington (UTA). Jack Woolf,president of ASC and UTA since 1959,resigned in 1968 and was succeeded by Frank Harrison;Harrison was president until 1972. UTA awarded its first master's degrees in 1968,all in engineering. Reby Cary,the university's first African-American administrator,was hired the following year.
Gregorio Eduardo Casar is an American politician who is the member for Texas's 35th congressional district in the United States Congress since 2023. He served as a member of the Austin City Council from the 4th district from 2015 to 2022. Casar is a member of the Democratic Party and was endorsed by the Working Families Party in his run for Congress. Casar is an unendorsed member of the Democratic Socialists of America. He was first elected to the Austin City Council in 2014,representing District 4. He was reelected in 2016 and 2020. He was elected to Congress in 2022.
