Guangdong Prison Administrative Bureau is the correctional agency of Guangdong Province,China. It is headquartered in Baiyun District,Guangzhou. [1] As of September 2014,Liu Fang is the head of the bureau. [2]
As of 2015,the province has 127 prisons and detention houses. [3]
From the beginning of 2014 until 2015 there were a series of incidents involving illegal sentence commutations and escapes from the Guangdong prison system. [3]
The prison in Jieyang created an online inmate information system in April 2014;this is the first such program in mainland China. In September 2014 the bureau announced that it was going to begin publishing inmate information online by the end of 2014. [2]

Guangdong is a coastal province located in South China, on the north shore of the South China Sea. The provincial capital is Guangzhou. With a population of 126.84 million across a total area of about 179,800 km2 (69,400 sq mi), Guangdong is the most populous province of China and the 15th-largest by area as well as the third-most populous country subdivision in the world.
Chaozhou, alternatively Chiuchow, Chaochow or Teochew, is a city in the eastern Guangdong province of China. It borders Shantou to the south, Jieyang to the southwest, Meizhou to the northwest, the province of Fujian to the east, and the South China Sea to the southeast. It is administered as a prefecture-level city with a jurisdiction area of 3,110 km2 (1,200 sq mi) and a total population of 2,568,387. Its built-up area encompassing most of Shantou and Jieyang cities was home to 12,543,024 inhabitants on 13 local administrative areas. Along with Shantou and Jieyang, Chaozhou is a cultural center of the Chaoshan region.
Re-education through labor, abbreviated laojiao was a system of administrative detention on mainland China. Active from 1957 to 2013, the system was used to detain persons who were accused of committing minor crimes such as petty theft, prostitution, and trafficking of illegal drugs, as well as political dissidents, petitioners, and Falun Gong followers. It was separated from the much larger laogai system of prison labor camps.
Shantou, alternately romanized as Swatow and sometimes known as Santow, is a prefecture-level city on the eastern coast of Guangdong, China, with a total population of 5,502,031 as of the 2020 census and an administrative area of 2,248.39 square kilometres (868.11 sq mi). However, its built-up area is much bigger with 12,543,024 inhabitants including Rongcheng and Jiedong districts, Jiexi county and Puning city in Jieyang plus all of Chaozhou city largely conurbated. This is de facto the 5th built-up area in mainland China between Hangzhou-Shaoxing, Xian-Xianyang and Tianjin.

Chaoshan or Teoswa is a cultural-linguistic region in the east of Guangdong, China. It is the origin of the Min Nan Chaoshan dialect (潮汕话). The region, also known as Chiushan in Cantonese, consists of the cities Chaozhou, Jieyang and Shantou. It differs linguistically from the rest of Guangdong province, which was historically dominated by Yue speakers, Hakka, and Leizhou Min speakers. However, Mandarin has recently become the dominant language in the region. It is historically important as the ancestral homeland of many citizens of other countries of Chinese descent, including Viets, Thais, Cambodians, Singaporeans, Malaysians, and Indonesians.
Jieyang is a prefecture-level city in eastern Guangdong Province (Yuedong), People's Republic of China, part of the Chaoshan region whose people speak Chaoshan Min distinct from neighbouring Yue speakers. It is historically important as the hometown of many overseas Chinese in Southeast Asia. It borders Shantou to the east, Chaozhou to the northeast, Meizhou to the north, Shanwei to the west, and looks out to the South China Sea to the south.
Baiyun District is one of 11 urban districts of the prefecture-level city of Guangzhou, the capital of Guangdong Province, China. The district is located in the city's northern suburbs, and is named after the Baiyun Mountain, one of the area's natural attractions.
Jiangmen Prison is a prison in the Jiangmen District of the county-level city of Heshan in Jiangmen City, Guangdong Province, China. Established in 1951, inmates work at the nearby Yingding Tea Factory (营顶茶场) and Minhai Clothing Factory (皿海服装厂).
Foshan Prison is a prison in the Gaoming District of Foshan City, Guangdong Province, China. It was established as Xijiang Mengjiang Laogai Farm in 1958, and renamed Foshan Prison in 1995. Its inmates once mined ore at the adjacent Fuwan Xijiang Manganese Mine (富湾西江锰矿), whose deposits are now exhausted. They now produce rattan and wool goods.

Jieyang Chaoshan International Airport is an international airport serving the cities of Jieyang, Shantou and Chaozhou in South Central China‘s Guangdong province. It is located in the towns of Paotai and Denggang in Jiedong District, Jieyang, Guangdong. It was part of a relocation plan from the original Shantou Waisha Airport, and the site was chosen to be near the geographic center of Jieyang, Shantou, and Chaozhou. The airport was put into service on 15 December 2011, with the simultaneous shut-down of Shantou Waisha Airport as a commercial airport.

Jieyang Prison is a prison in Guangdong province, China. It was formerly named as Dongjing Labor Reform Detachment. The prison is governed by the Guangdong Prison Administrative Bureau. In 1982 the prison housed around 700 inmates, and in late 1995 the number of inmates was approximately 3,900.
Eastern Guangdong intercity railway is a system of commuter rail lines under construction in Guangdong, China. Construction started on December 17, 2021.
