HQ-11, export designation FM-3000, [1] is a mobile short-to-medium range air defense missile system designed for terminal air defense. Designated as the "universal terminal defence system" in Zhuhai Airshow 2022, unveiled by China Aerospace Science and Industry Corporation (CASIC). [2] The export version, FM-3000, was unveiled by CASIC in 2014. [3]

Description

The HQ-11 terminal defense system consists of a missile launcher vehicle, LD-3000 (Type 1130) close-in weapon system, and a radar surveillance vehicle. The carrier vehicle of the missile launcher is an 8×8 wheeled transporter erector launcher (TEL), which is fitted with eight square canisters as vertical launch cells. [2] [4]

The engagement range is 30 kilometres (19 mi) against aircraft and 20 kilometres (12 mi) against missiles. Each air defense battery has a rotating rotary phased-array radar and four launch vehicles and can handle 32 different targets simultaneously. [5] [6] Guidance system for the missile included inertial guidance, command guidance, and terminal active radar homing. [7] [3]

The HQ-11 is meant to replace HQ-6A air defense system with better target engagement capability due to increased threats from missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles on the battlefield. The HQ-6A has 4-cell canted missile launchers, LD-2000 close-in weapon systems, and older mechanical radars. The HQ-11 is equipped with a more responsive 8-cell vertical launch system, LD-3000 CIWS, and active electronically scanned array (AESA) radar for the surveillance vehicle. [8]

The Type 051B destroyer is a class of destroyer built by the People's Republic of China. It consists of only one ship, Shenzhen (167). When Shenzhen was commissioned into the People's Liberation Army Navy Surface Force in 1998, it was then the largest surface combatant that China had ever built. FB-10 is a mobile light air defense missile system developed by China Aerospace Science and Industry Corporation for the export market. Unveiled at the 2016 Zhuhai Airshow, it features a 6x6 TEL with a phased array radar, optical sensor, and eight missile tubes. The engagement range is 10 kilometers, and the engagement altitude is from 15 to 5,000 meters. According to Chinese sources, FB-10 missiles is similar to the HQ-10 rolling airframe missile system with infrared/radar dual mode hybrid guidance system.
