The Hackney Half is an annual half-marathon held during the spring in the London borough of Hackney. The first event was held in 2014, with over 12,000 runners taking part. [1] The event is London's biggest half-marathon event, with 24,000 runners taking part in the 2023 event. [2]
In 2020, the event was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. [3] In 2021, the event originally set to happen in May, was postponed to September 26th with a scaled back event due to the COVID-19 lockdown in the United Kingdom. [4]
In 2023, organisers of the event were accused of “greenwashing” by Green councillor Alastair Binnie-Lubbock, after the airline Wizz Air sponsored the event. [5]

The Reading Half Marathon is a half marathon road running event held on the streets of the English town of Reading, first held in 1983. The race is normally held on a Sunday in March or early April of each year. The race is open to everyone from fun runner to elite athlete, and was one of the first town races to include wheelchair athletes.
The Bath Half Marathon is an annual road running half marathon held in Bath, England, normally on the second or third Sunday in March. It has been held almost every year since 1982. The race was first run in the year after the first London Marathon and has remained a popular race for runners preparing for that event. The next race is scheduled for Sunday 16 March 2025.

The Principality Building Society Cardiff Half Marathon is an annual half marathon race held in the Welsh capital city of Cardiff, taking place in October. The race was originally organised by the children’s charity Barnardo’s. Now organised by Run 4 Wales, the race has grown to accommodate up to 27,500 runners.
The Rotterdam Half Marathon was an annual half marathon race over 21.1 kilometres, that was staged in Rotterdam, the Netherlands on the second Sunday in September. The event was contested from 2004 to 2009. It was discontinued in 2010 due to lacking participation.
The Rock 'n' Roll Madrid Marathon is an annual marathon race which takes place in Madrid, Spain, in late April. The event was first held in 1978 and has since gained IAAF Gold Label Road Race status and had over 15,000 runners participate in the 2017 edition. A 10 km road race was added in 2010 and a Half Marathon road race was added in 2012.

Geofrey Kusuro is a Ugandan long-distance runner. He competed at the 2008 Summer Olympics in the men's 5000 m, not reaching the final. At the 2012 Summer Olympics, he competed in the Men's 5000 metres, finishing 37th overall in Round 1, failing to qualify for the final. He also represented Uganda at the 2009 and 2011 World Championships.

In 2018, he competed in the men's marathon at the 2018 European Athletics Championships held in Berlin, Germany. He finished in 40th place. In 2020, he competed in the men's race at the 2020 World Athletics Half Marathon Championships held in Gdynia, Poland. In 2023 he won the Manchester Marathon in a time of 2:16:27.
Hiruni Wijayaratne is a Sri Lankan distance athlete. She holds eleven Sri Lankan national records for road and track events as of 2022, including the women's 10,000 metres and marathon.
The Kyiv Marathon or Wizz Air Kyiv City Marathon is an annual road running event over the marathon distance which is held in October on the streets of Kyiv, Ukraine since 2010. The race is certified by AIMS, and is part of the Run Ukraine Running League, an annual series of races held in Ukrainian cities.
The 10-mile run is a long-distance running event over a distance of ten miles (16.1 kilometres). It can be held on a road course or on a running track. Also referred to as a 10-miler or 10 miles run, it is a relatively common distance in countries that use the mile as a unit of measure. Ten miles is roughly an intermediate distance between the 10K run and the half marathon (21.1 km). The level of endurance required to run the distance means it attracts more seasoned runners than shorter events and usually requires a period of preparation for first-time attempts.
Elisha Rotich is a Kenyan long-distance runner who specializes in the marathon. Rotich has a personal best in the marathon of 2:04:21, which he set when he won and set the course record at the Paris Marathon in 2021. Rotich also won the 2016 Cannes Marathon des Alpes-Maritimes, the 2017 Chuncheon Chosunilbo Marathon, and the 2018 Eindhoven Marathon.
